Do you forget your own age?

For the past couple of years I've been 42 or 43. I spent a year believing I was 43 when I was only 42. I've just done a literal google on what age I am and have found I'm still only 42 with a few months to go until 43. But it's been like two years!

Just me who forgets?

Ha ha I'm not that bad but I do forget.
At least you gained a year!
Who's counting anyway Grin

I'm the same. And around the same age too! My kids know how old I am so when I forget, they remind me.

DramaAlpaca · 11/04/2022 23:06

No, I don't.

Kite22 · 11/04/2022 23:06

No

DinkBoo · 11/04/2022 23:07

Yep. Also what year it is. Also around the same age, I think Wink

(I am choosing to blame the pandemic, so many missed birthdays)

SwedishEdith · 11/04/2022 23:08

I've had to pause and think about it since my late 20s.

0infp0 · 11/04/2022 23:09

No but just can't believe my age sometimes as in 'only old people are this age', I can't be surely? Grin

SpeedofaSloth · 11/04/2022 23:09

Yes, in my head I am in my twenties still and my actual age always comes as a bit of a shock when I remember.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 11/04/2022 23:09

Yes, even now I’m not sure if I’m 32/33/34. Always been bad with dates/times etc but also kind of given up remembering.

LoudingVoice · 11/04/2022 23:09

I thought for a minute a couple of months ago I was going to be 45 next birthday but was pleased to realise I’m only 44 Grin

mrsprefect · 11/04/2022 23:10

All the time. I round up, then forget that I have rounded up and round up again

RampantIvy · 11/04/2022 23:10

No.I am old enough to have a senior railcard, but not too doddery to forget how old I am Grin

nocoolnamesleft · 11/04/2022 23:10

I sometimes have to pause and think. Possibly in part because I've never made a big thing of birthdays.

vdbfamily · 11/04/2022 23:10

yes... often... my kids correct me! I am 54 currently but thought I was 53

DamnShesaSexyChick · 11/04/2022 23:11

No

Hawkins001 · 11/04/2022 23:11

Yes at times,

glowingcandle · 11/04/2022 23:12

Yes, and like a PP I blame the pandemic. Because it's like a couple of years never actually happened.

twoandcooplease · 11/04/2022 23:15

Frequently. It's terrible how often actually

In my last job one of the security questions were 'can you tell me your age on your NEXT birthday' and I'd be really impressed by those that could answer with no hesitation

PickAChew · 11/04/2022 23:16

I'm 52 and sometimes having to count on my fingers for the first time ever. I do think the pandemic has a lot to answer for. Rather than 2 years, it's just been one extra long one.

merryhouse · 11/04/2022 23:17

I generally have to think about it. But having done so I never get it wrong (I was born in a -9 year so it's quite easy).

Pixiedust1234 · 11/04/2022 23:17

Yes. I don't find knowing my own age (or anybody else's) an important fact to remember once you pass 18 into adulthood. I have too much other stuff to remember so something has to get bumped.

mrburrsir · 11/04/2022 23:18

Yes I think because my most recent birthday came and went without any celebrations (no time or money this year!) and was just another day at work, I keep forgetting I turned another year older

TraceyLacey · 11/04/2022 23:18

I forget, but work it out from the year I was born.

WelshyMaud · 11/04/2022 23:18

I did this last week for the first time. I genuinely couldn't remember if I was 35 or 36...no idea at all, not even a leaning toward one. I had to count from my birth year 😂

pennysays · 11/04/2022 23:19

Yes all the time. And just like @mrsprefect it’s because I round up to my nearest birthday and then forget I have done that and round up again. I’m never way off - but a year or two. I often have to work it out from my year of birth to completely certain.
