A mop and bucket can’t be used. What do you use?

an e cloth mop with Method almond wood cleaner. no water

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/04/2022 20:42

An E mop. Use as little water as possible, I use a dab of dish soap every month or so.

A vax steam mop. If its decent quality you should be able to clean it normally as it shoukd be oiled.

What’s an e mop? I clean my engineered wood floor with a damp cloth.

Caspianberg · 11/04/2022 20:45

I use a mop and bucket still. It’s what was recommended by the company

Moppincraxy · 11/04/2022 20:45

Method wood cleaner and e Mop.

Although I've done it with a mop and bucket too and it's survived fine.

My engineered wood floor has an oiled finish. So I use this with the recommended bottles of cleaner. You mix the cleaner with water in the bottle which clips onto the mop. The mop sprays the cleaner onto the floor and you use the mop to wipe

This is absolutely brilliant on my solid oak floor... https://www.lakeland.co.uk/46386/Bona-Premium-Wood-Floor-Spray-Mop?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkJabOKM9wIVhpftCh3txgmdEAAYASAAEgISvPDD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

NO don't do this after a couple of years the glue will erode and wood will warp 😱 Method with almond is pretty good.
Caspianberg · 11/04/2022 20:59

But surely you need to clean clean it also?

I mean I have method almond stuff to put on for shine and to ‘clean’. But it still use hot water with floor cleaner first to actually wash off toddler porridge lobbed on the floor, otherwise it would just get pushed around

Is this the E cleaner?

How does the method wood cleaner work with it?

Steam mop. Five years on it’s fine.

Bunnycat101 · 11/04/2022 21:57

I struggle with my wooden floor in our high use areas. I’d much rather have tiles tbh as I’d feel better able to look after it. I’ve tried the method almond cleaner which does smell lovely. I am worried by water though as we had a small leak from my dishwasher and it has properly warped the wood.

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 11/04/2022 22:37

The joiner that laid our engineered wood floor recommended using a steamer - you skim over the floor quickly and don’t over wet / steam it.
