What’s the longest you’ve waited for missing airline luggage and still got it back?

Been a full week for DS now, out travelling in South America and the luggage tracker still says Heathrow. I’m giving up hope to be honest. Google says most people get it back within 2/3 days.

Air France once lost my luggage coming back from Vietnam. No one ever contacted me. I had to ring everyday and it was never found. The airline have to declare the bag lost before you can claim on insurance and it took 9 months before they did that.

Really, I read somewhere that it was 21 days before being declared lost- maybe it varies from company to company? They were contacting us on first few days but no replies for 36 hours now. You’d think there would be a better system in the days of bar codes and tagging.

Four days but I’d put my name and address in it, so when the Gatwick manager opened it she saw it and called me. If the tags got ripped off, which is prob what happened did he put his details inside so they know whose it is? If not then it’s gone forever.
