Hi I work as a carer and one of my clients had covid. I cared for him for 4 days in a row. On the 3rd day I got a sore throat and felt absolutely exhausted. Day 4 I felt like the walking dead.
I have to do LFTs for work every day.
On the 5th day monday it was my day off. I did LFT anyway as I felt like crap. Still negative. But I was getting a nose bleed every time I did nasal swab so it was contaminating the sample.
On Tuesday I found a box of throat swabs and did one of those. It came back positive immediately.
On Thursday decided try nasal swab again. No blood. Came back negative! Throat swab was positive again though.
I've been doing nasal swabs every day just to see if it does actually pick up covd and nope, never has done!
Yesterday was first day I had to test for work (Day 5 since testing positive) and it was negative (throat swab). Today my throat swab is positive again!!! Only faint but 2 lines is 2 lines.
I've actually run out of throat swabs now. Nasal is negative. I feel absolutely fine now.
So is it possible to be testing positive with throat swabs but not nasal swabs???
