Early pregnancy scan put me back a week?

So I know I ovulated 11th march, period started 24th Feb

Had an early scan due to some light brown spotting (stopped now)which they put down to implantation.

They said your more like 5 weeks than 6 weeks as I expected from my dates above.
They could see a heartbeat and measured crown to rump 2mm!!! She didn't seem concerned. But I am now overthinking.

2mm seems v small for my dates. Il add it was only abdominal scan so not as clear as trans!

I am concerned its too small basically.
Thoughts ? Anyone had similar exp ?

I had one that put me back over 3 weeks to make conception the day I'd had the positive pregnancy test. Even though on every other scan the size was big for their dates, they would not change it. I ended up seeing a consultant saying I was concerned about what would happen if I went over their date, which by my dates was already 3 weeks over. Unfortunately my argument was that I could have only conceived on x or y date because DH was away with work so they decided I was trying to cover up my infidelity and refused to listen. I had the date of the pregnancy test, I had the date I called the GP to be referred for the scan - which were all around the date of conception according to them!

Anyway I gave birth on their due date to a massive baby with a full head of hair and covered in meconium and without a sign of vernix and the midwife asked if I was sure of my dates Hmm

My first scan at 6 weeks (private) I was 10 days behind, no hb. At 7 weeks (EPAU) I was 7 days behind, with hb and 12 weeks I was 4 days behind. Baby is fine. EPAU said baby was in an awkward position and they had to try and move it away from the side a bit and it went from "we're concerned" to "ohhhh yes that makes perfect sense"

I think the margin of error is quite big because of how tiny they are and like you say, abdominal is less clear than transvaginal. I know I ovulate late so I wasn't too surprised and at my latest scan 4 days behind is exactly where I should be, but it is nerve wracking.

Have you got a follow up scan booked?

Both my pregnancies I had this. Brown spotting, early scan, put me two weeks less than I expected.

I got put back a week in an early scan and, all the way through my pregnancy, I have been told she's measuring small. I'm now 30 weeks and she's kicking me in the nethers as I type. I don't know if she's going to be small (I doubt it tbh) but she's perfect. And some of them just take a little longer to cook.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. 🥳

Oh wow that is SO RUDE! Did you complain? I ended up with two doctors in the appointment, neither would do anything other than note in it my notes as "early scans are always the most accurate."

I didn't have a dating scan again, just the anomaly one.
