Would you have gone back in to pay

Went for a lovely pub lunch with a friend...paid bill by card but on way back to the car totted it up and realised we had been undercharged by one meal. Would you go back and pay?

Call them up and pay over the phone?

piratehugs · 11/04/2022 07:36

Of course I would.

Furrbabymama87 · 11/04/2022 07:38

No. You intended to pay and it was their mistake.

girlmom21 · 11/04/2022 07:40

I would or I'd never be brave enough to go there again!

Yiibe · 11/04/2022 07:46

Yes I would.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 11/04/2022 07:46

Yes

I wouldn't even notice tbh. I'd pay whatever bill they handed me and leave.
If I did notice, I doubt I would go back, I paid what was requested, any mistake is on them.

I walked back in from the car park and paid btw, it's just that I mentioned it in a group yesterday and everyone seemed quite surprised that I'd bothered! It was a nice pub, not a chain and I was worried the young waiter who sorted the bill would get into trouble for cocking up the bill.

Yes, I've done so in the past.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 11/04/2022 08:32

I would go back, but it would be a bit mean of the pub if they said "Oh that means the service charge has to go up too!"

This.

A lot of places tell you to check the bill/change/recept before you leave as, once you have left the building, mistakes cannot be rectified.

Works both ways 🤷🏻‍♀️

But would be aware of the potential impact on a small independent place.

FindMeInTheSunshine · 11/04/2022 08:59

Yes, and I have done more than once.
