Clarks at home foot measurer doesn't give me a size

When I put it in the converter.

I'm sure this happens every fucking time I deign to measure the kids feet.

Stupid online converter keeps saying "out of range, visit a store"

What length are their feet?

m030978 · 10/04/2022 16:31

DS has such narrow feet that even at the store they can't suggest the right size. He measures at a C or D width, which they cannot compute! They even ask if we've ever noticed his feet are a bit narrow Hmm He's 14 now and a size 8, we gave up measuring at clarks when he was about 9, they had NOTHING anywhere near. Now we just get him to try shoes the right length til he finds something comfy.

I'm getting 154mm and 85mm on the toddler gauge and it's giving me this message when I put them in the converter thing.

I've looked up the size guide though so have a rough idea!!

Sorry it's giving me the "out of range" message when I pop the measurements in the calculator.

I get this with the Startrite gauges as my dds have wide feet. I just lower it by a mm at a time until it recognises a size, and use that as a guideline.

dementedpixie · 10/04/2022 17:14

85mm is a huge difference compared to the screenshot for width. Are you sure of that measurement?

MrsMoastyToasty · 10/04/2022 17:40

We always had problems with Clarks measurements. We tried the machine thingy in store as well as one of the old fashioned hand held gadget that looked like a slide rule with a strap on it. They former always came up with an out of range reading and the latter with an I fitting (the widest Clarks now do is H). So we always had to size up in the hope that the longer length would also have a bit more width.

I bought a gauge during lockdown and always got out of range as well.

I think your DC have exceptionally narrow feet!
Crunchymum · 10/04/2022 18:34

Maybe I was reading it wrong.

I've put it all away now was well Shock

Using length alone she is still the same size she is wearing. So all good. I'll watch the instruction video for next time Grin

Yes I get this every time for both kids. They both have quite high insteps which I think is the reason. Massive pain as I bought the bloody thing to avoid queues in the shop but we still have to go in
