And you no longer need to escape to ‘help get them to sleep’, go for a walk or have some ‘down time’ upstairs, how do you hide? Blush

Just excuse yourself to the loo and read a book in a corner somewhere. Or leave. Or don't go if you hate them so much

Haha I don’t hate anyone, I’m just an awkward introvert and I know mumsnet is full of them!

Small bits are fine and then I love an excuse to leave.

Perhaps I will suddenly have a toilet problem. Or constantly need to help in the kitchen.

👆🏻 This!! If you feel the need to, tell them you remember the days of young children and having to constantly disappear from the event/party to sort them out so want to let them enjoy it without worrying about the little one too much!
