Wide awake with the worst toothache

It came on last night out of nowhere. All the right side of my face. I’m in the most intense pain I’ve ever been in, I can barely
Think straight. I have an ‘emergency’ appointment at my dentist for Monday evening but I’m not sure I can last that long. NOTHING is touching the pain. It’s throbbing. My face has started to swell and my cheek is very hot to touch so clearly an infection. Can I be prescribed antibiotics whilst I wait for my appointment? I cannot cope, I don’t know what to do 😢

Hi! Sorry meant to update the thread last night. I made it to the dentist, he prescribed me antibiotics. The pain has eased but the swelling is still there but hoping it goes down soon, I have a wedding at the weekend! I’ve got to go back at the end of the month for an X-ray and to discuss treatment options. He’s not sure if the tooth can be saved (it’s a back molar) but if it can it will require an extensive root canal and the price will be roughly £900!! If I have it out though it’s £89. I know it’s not about money but I can’t afford £900 for one tooth but we will see what the X-ray says

The pain is easing but worse at night so sleeping sitting up still and I’ve barely eaten a thing, I can’t face it. I need to eat something though, I feel really weak but my face is still sore and I’m scared of making the pain worse.

I’m taking DS to London today though, we are on the train now so trying to block everything out and have a nice day with him. And have something to eat!

Oh and also I was hysterical at the dentist, sobbed the whole way through 🙈. So embarrassing. But he was SO lovely

Just get the tooth out. I've had two root canals, both failed and I ended up just getting the tooth out. With I'd done it much earlier to be honest!
