Online check in or at airport?

Advice please! Is it really better to check in online or OK to do at Heathrow? We will have to check our bags in anyway. Assuming they print our boarding passes off at the airport then.

Online, there are often automated bag check-ins where you scan your boarding pass and it issues your luggage tag. If the queues aren't huge you can still use the normal check-in desks, if the queues are massive you may find it's much quicker to use the automated ones.

Which airline? Some overbook so by not checking in online you run the risk of them running out of space.

Book online, then you'll probably be able to choose your seats. And yes, you'll avoid getting bumped because they've over-sold.
