Hi,

We have 2 children who are both Autistic. We want to book day out but it says carers go free We are both carers but only one of us is on the letter for the award. Can we book for both of us as carers or just the one? Hope this makes sense as they both been recently diagnosed and haven't done this before.

We book tickets like this, it is usually related to the disabled person not you - so if the person needs a carer and the company offers carer tickets, the disabled person can bring any adult to take that role. However they all have different terms and conditions/policies on the tickets so each company might be a bit different. Which company is it, do they have terms on their website?

Yes it's normally based on the number of paying guests and 1 carer goes free with each paying guest.

I'm disabled and DH often gets the free carer ticket when with me. We don't claim Carer's allowance and no one asked us for that as proof, I usually use my PIP award letter or my Blue Badge as proof. Do you have anything else you can show as proof of disability for each child?

Yeah we have their diagnosis letter. It says carer goes discount price but not the individual?

Normally you’ll pay the relevant for price for the person with the disability and that person can take a carer for free or a discounted price.
