First adult passport after name change - has anyone had to do this?

DD1 needs a new passport as her last one ran out 4 years ago. She is now 20 so needs an adult one but to complicate matters has changed her name (legally be deed poll). I'm confused by the passport office guidance which says a first adult passport is for those who have never had a passport before but she has, just in a different name.

Has anyone had to do this, I changed my name when I got married but my old passport was still valid so changing it was easy. I'm assuming she'll have to send her original birth certificate and deed poll certificate, does she need to send anything else?

I'm aware we need to do this soon considering the long wait people are having for their simple renewals. Thanks.

It's just a renewal with a name change rather than a first adult passport.

She needs to send proof of the name change (deed poll) and proof of using the name

Her changing her name doesn't make her a different person and I don't think the validity of the old passport makes a difference - she's looking at an adult renewal.

I think you probably send the old passport and the deed poll and she'll need the photo verifying if she looks different to her last one.

Hi does anyone no how long adult passports are currently taking. I applied for my dads on the 13th of March they received documents on the 31st. Were due to fly the 7th of June and all I'm hearing is nightmare stories of them not turning up in time. I just wanted some positive news lol
