Booked a very expensive, fun outing for me, partner and two kids. First time we are all going out together. Everyone ready for driving down at 1.... just checked tickets and I booked them for tomorrow.

Fuck.

Just waiting until place opens to beg them to change the date to today.
Why do these things always happen to me!?!? 😂

Noooooo. Hope you get it sorted op. Least you didn’t book for yesterday!

OrlandointheWilderness · 09/04/2022 09:47

Yes I am looking on that bright side @Purplecatshopaholic!!!! God I hope they can change it, then I can ring the BF of 11 months and confess what a ditzy airhead I am AFTER I've sorted it.
I'm hiding in the garden with the puppy so I don't have to face DC.
I think we could still go tomorrow but it's not wonderful!

Ah, I can empathise op, it's the kind of thing I've done.
Fingers crossed you can get them changed to today.

OrlandointheWilderness · 09/04/2022 10:19

Oh god they can't change them.

IchBinAnnaOfCleves · 09/04/2022 10:21

Can you sell them and rebook?
What is it and where?

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 09/04/2022 10:22

But if you're all off tomorrow then what's the problem? You said you can all go tomorrow. It's fine.

Would be different if you or he had to work tomorrow. But if you are both free then it is fine. Dont panic.

Hiddenvoice · 09/04/2022 10:24

It’s a shame they can’t change them but if you’re all able to go tomorrow then why not just do something else today? No need to go spend money- could have a picnic or go to a local park?

Candleabra · 09/04/2022 10:25

Can you just go tomorrow?

user1471505356 · 09/04/2022 10:30

I booked a concert for the wrong night when I turned up I said I would pay for my mistake, the receptionist just reissued them for free.

Beeinalily · 09/04/2022 10:31

It's a bit of a pain, but just IMAGINE if they'd been for yesterday. And tell the others that when they moan!

TheMarvelousMrsMaisel · 09/04/2022 10:34

Can't you go tomorrow instead?

OrlandointheWilderness · 09/04/2022 11:00

Problem was with tomorrow that we wouldn't be back until about 1am and BFs DC has something on early Monday morning.
I rang BF who has proved his loveliness again, said not to worry, these things happen and it was fine. I have though managed to change them to 9am tomorrow morning which means a 5.30 start but doable. We will stay at his tonight and go from there.
Aargh the stress!! Oh, it's the Harry Potter studio tour for anyone interested.

The Harry Potter studio is amazing! You’ll forget about the cock up once you get there! Enjoy OP x

OrlandointheWilderness · 09/04/2022 11:33

I've been twice before but BF and his DC haven't been. Kids have met briefly before but we've been taking it steady and this is our first outing all together. So looking forward to it. In a way, it's not a bad thing I suppose as BFs reaction was so sweet and lovely it was wonderful to hear! God my x would've gone up the wall at my stupidity.

I once took my entire family swimming and frog marched them from the pool when it was time to "go" (because we had an appointment at 4pm somewhere else)

I barked orders at all of them, like a military drill, as they dressed. Didn't even put my own bra on. Wouldn't let my daughter stop to use the hair dryers. Told my husband to "JUST LEAVE IT" when he tried to recover our pound coin from the locker. 😂

Got everyone loaded into the car. And then, as my husband put the address into the sat nav, I realised I'd accidentally mis-timed it by an hour... and we were an hour early.

We ended up sitting in the car for an hour, wet and miserable.

I apologised once but nobody was gracious enough to accept it. So I turned it around on them all and said "I organise everything in this family and there are no prizes for the millions of times I get it RIGHT"

This didn't help, and everyone was in a mood with me for the rest of the day.

They still bring it up and it was years ago.

OrlandointheWilderness · 09/04/2022 11:52

😂 @PeeAche2 bloody priceless!

Three years ago my parents came to stay with me. When they booked a ferry back to their home country, they told me the date and time of their sailing.

On the day, they packed their cases, got everything in the car, we said our goodbyes and off they went. I had a very strange feeling about it but couldn't work out why.

A few hours later they capped from the port. They'd got to the right port, at the right time, except nobody else was there.

"Our crossing is tomorrow - we left on the wrong date". Blush

Squiff70 · 09/04/2022 12:40

Called, not capped!

lljkk · 09/04/2022 12:43

Very relatable, feel like this must be a "We've All done it" thing

OrlandointheWilderness · 09/04/2022 12:58

Oh this is making me feel better! 😂
If it wasn't for the fact this is a relatively new relationship, and a first outing together with the kids, I wouldn't feel so bad! Now the whole family, and his DCs mum, will know i am possibly an idiot 😂
Oh well!
