Kinder Surprise Eggs Recall

There has been a massive recall on Kinder Surprise eggs and other kinder products news.sky.com/story/belgium-orders-ferrero-plant-to-shut-over-kinder-salmonella-link-12585534

I've purchased a whole load of the effected products a few weeks ago in preparation for Easter. I hadn't envisioned this situation so don't have my receipt. How does the recall work? Am I entitled to bring them to any store and exchange for new products? Or get a refund? I can't imagine many of the people who purchased still have their receipt, but a lot will have been purchased in recent weeks.

Can anyone explain the recall process for me? I've never experienced anything like this.

According to the Food Standards Agency, you contact Ferrero for a refund.

If you have bought the above products do not eat them. Instead, please contact the Ferrero consumer careline on [email protected] or 0330 053 8943 UK or +44 (0)330 053 8943 Ireland to obtain a full refund.

I read you can return them to store and don’t need a receipt but I don’t know if that’s true, my daughter had them just before we saw this but won’t eat the chocolate (only wants the toy 😒) so luckily she didn’t eat any!

It looks like Asda and Tesco offer refunds in store too so it might be worth trying them.

Oh thanks both! I actually don't even want a refund if I'm able to exchange for the same unaffected products. I'll pop into Tesco today with the hope I can exchange

There's a more recent update. www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/alert/fsa-prin-25-2022-update-2

They've extended the recall to include all Kinder items from that factory, regardless of date so I'm not sure that you'll be able to find any Kinder products but hopefully you can find something suitable.

I tried returning in store but they wouldn't without a receipt, emailed kinder but surprise surprise no response yet.
