I'm writing a rude novella

Life is a bit dull at the moment so I started writing a short story about a guy I used to work with and what would have happened if I'd been brave enough and gone for it. Its very rude. But it's getting longer and starting to turn into a novella. I'm quite enjoying writing but I'm a total novice.

So if you like reading (ideally rude) fiction - can you give me your tips please? Promise I'm not a troll.

No tips but I hope you're going to be uploading each chapter as you finish it Grin

No tips. I'm too scared to write sex scenes in case my mum reads them. Also I find sex's but funny in real life, which isn't very erotic.
Do it!

I'm absolutely not uploading it anywhere!!!

Hello, I write smutty books. I'm in several smutty book writing groups. There are lots if us out there. Its a massively popular genre. No judgement. It's so much fun and can be profitable too. I have friends that make a good living through self publishing. Enjoy and good for you. Keep going with it!

Avoid the words "shaft, slit and velvet sheath"... Don't get bogged down in overly lengthy descriptions and conversations. Sometimes authors use far too many adjectives and instead of sounding clever, it hurts to read.

I read a ridiculous amount of erotica and I always want to feel connected to the characters. If I wanted straight-up sex, I would watch porn. The imagination and character development, even in novellas, is what makes erotica magic.

Good luck! It's awesome you're embracing your creative side.

Please, no twee euphemisms!

Don't entertain delusions of literary greatness. It's a description of you shagging, nothing more. Wink

This is so helpful!

I'm up to about 7000 words (only been writing a week). I've done a search and I have the word shaft once. Will get rid of it.
@KaptainKaveman haha don't worry. Charlotte Bronte I'm not

Will work on characters. Given the 'she' is 'me' I hope I can give a decent dimension to it.
