Does anyone have family gatherings on Easter Sunday?

Similar to the way we gather on Christmas Day, does anyone do the same on Easter Sunday? Big family gathering, family meal etc?

I’ve never done this before but we’re out of restrictions, I was thinking of inviting the family round this Easter Sunday for a big roast dinner with all the trimmings, maybe roast chicken or something like that.

Is this a thing?

Except when the pandemic restrictions prevented it, we have always had Easter staying at one of the family homes. Used to be a grandmother when I was little, and since her death, my mum and dad on most occasions.

We are having the in laws round. Think we will have chicken as lamb is so expensive and PILs could not be less fussed about what meat we have

My in laws do it but it's always planned very last minute 😂 So we always keep the day free so we can meet up for a meal.

Yes, usually.

We always did when my mum was alive, it was always a chance to get together for the first time since Christmas really. I have great memories of Easter gatherings, it’s my favourite time of year.

Yes, we used to when we all lived a bit closer to each other - it was a lovely day.

Big family meal at Easter when I was growing up, much bigger celebration than Christmas usually, we are C of E. Now Easter is still an important family meal, but now it doesn't include extended family.
