Teenage DD and friend staying.

My 16 year old (GCSE year) DD rang the other day and asked if her friend could come as she had nowhere to stay. It seems she has moved out of her family home due to a breakdown of the relationship between her and her mum. Was living with her sister for a while but that was logistically difficult, then went to some flat (has possibly lived there before) but that went tits up (don't know exactly why) and so came to us. It seemed at first it was going to be just this week as she is elsewhere over Easter and then would be living with another sister after that, but that appears to not be likely. So unless things change dramatically she'll be back at my house.

Currently sleeping on the sofabed but obviously not great long term. Her mum was supposed to come round tonight but called it off.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do, her Mum knows she is here, but then what? If needed I'll squeeze a bed into dd's room but they have GCSES coming up and all this is going on.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Thanks.

Involve social services, it sounds like this child is homeless and you are informally fostering.

Thanks stompy I'll sit tight over the holidays and then assess what the situation is after that.
