Dinner tonight: whole chicken but don't fancy a roast

We have a whole chicken to cook. Don't fancy a roast tonight so what can I serve with it or have for dinner tonight?

Salad and crusty bread

We always have this with a roast chicken (along with hash browns).

Then the next day I'll do a roast with the leftover chicken and cook the roasties in the leftover chicken fat.

Lorraine Pascale's peri peri chicken is lovely, recipie is on BBC good food (sorry, I can't get a link to work)

Spatchcock it, score the skin and rub with hot sticky marinade (garlic, tomato purée, molasses, chillies, olive oil, paprika or peri peri seasoning etc) sprinkle with coriander & serve with something like tzatziki or yoghurt, and salads coleslaw etc

I did a roast chicken on sunday with patatas bravas and an avocado and feta salad

Crusty bread, salty butter, two or three different salads, some cheeses.

People then make delicious hot sandwiches or salads according to what they fancy.

Chicken & chips with lashings of mayonnaise!

Agree with all the wrap and salad ideas.

Pomegranate molasses and home made garlic mayo really perk it up.

I roasted one recently then turned into Joe Wicks' chicken pie with filo on top. It was delicious; a leek, mushrooms, stock and cream, bit of cornflour, chucked in the cooked chicken, topped with packet filo and baked until pastry was cooked. So good.
