How busy is Alton Towers midweek?

For a visit to Alton Towers midweek, in the next couple of months (avoiding school holidays), do you think a Fastpass is worth it? I haven't been for years so don't have a gauge on how busy queues are midweek, hopefully outside of the end of term time trips. I'd be going alone, so would be able to take advantage of single rider queues, but when it's busy they can take as long as the standard queues anyway!

You don't need a fast pass mid week during term time. Don't waste your money you won't queue longer than 30 mins absolute max (usually for smiler) everything else is 15 mins or so usually.

Just read you're going alone, 100% don't waste your money on a fast pass!

My ds went last friday and said it was fine and he got on plenty of rides.

Thank you both. I had a feeling it was unneeded. I don’t want to waste money, but also didn’t want to be in a queue all day!

There is an app that shows you the waiting time for each ride. My daughter went last week and got to go on loads of rides. I read on here that you can also still join a queue just before they close, and they will keep the ride going until everyone has had a turn

I'm a local.
Midweek end of September early October is usually fairly quiet. Weirdly weekends before scarefest are also not too bad.

Crowd calendar here if it helps:

Go in the week of 9th May. It's SATs /test week in most schools and GCSEs have started. That will be the quietest week between now and September 😉

Great advice here thanks. I’ll bear in mind that week, I have annual leave to burn up expiring in June so that weeks seems ideal. I just hope the weather agrees!

Avoid late June/early July - school trips! Most schools in the midlands seem to go
