I have covid and I feel shocking. I'll be missing a significant family celebration at the weekend and a long-awaited night out with friends.

So, I'm a bit fed up. I need cheering: what's made you smile today?

Someone who used to work for me has been offered a fabulous new job, and she phoned to let me know a reference request would be on its way. I'm so pleased for her, it's just what she wanted and she really deserves it!

Thanks @JoanThursday and I hope you feel better soon too. Thanks I missed a family event last weekend and going to miss one with friends this coming weekend too so I really feel your pain there. Worst timing ever for catching it. Sad I've felt utterly shocking too, if this is a mild strain then I'm glad it's the first time I've caught it so far.

Dancing to the radio with my dog. Also my kids (class) bought me flowers and choc bar 🥲

A straight run on the roads to work - no school traffic so my commute was easy peasy
Seeing a couple of my work colleagues again after quite a while
My pup greeting me after work with the waggiest tail ever Smile

I've been doing a bit of scentwork with my 6 month old puppy and today she showed me she recognised 2 different scents rather than the 1 I thought she knew.
I was over the moon

I’ve just ordered athlete’s foot cream - Amazon offered me a 50 per cent discount on their gift wrapping service for it if I wanted!

My dog. When I got up this morning she was sat at top of stairs at the stairgate (stopping her getting fully upstairs) wagging her tail across the wooden stairs, just desperate to see us ❤

I had a bit of friendly banter with the teens in one of my classes. They make me smile every time, most teens are actually really lovely.

My aunty phoned me. She is 77. I don't see her much as we live far apart and she is very Covid cautious. I have had a tough week and none of my immediate family have contacted me once. It was so lovely to hear from her.

I got called “Nina” (girl) and “Senorita” earlier today - and without sarcastic undertones.

Qualify for my pension in a matter of a week or two….🤣

I woke up in my camper in a field and am going to bed the same. My happy place. Always makes me smile.

My DH is in a bit of a slump at the moment, he has D&A and takes meds but still struggles on a daily basis.

Today I found two little wooden discs he's been looking for for about a week, our son removed them from a game and had idly hidden them somewhere and we couldn't find them.

Well I found them, and put them under my glasses and walked into DH's study. I said 'I've got smth for you' and he looked and saw me holding the wooden puzzle with the two pieces still missing, and looked distinctly unimpressed. Then he looked up, and his face and laughter really made my day. It's the closest to my normal DH I've seen for weeks. Smile

I took DS to a toddler group and bumped into another mum I was starting to become friendly with when he was a baby, but hadn't seen since as lockdown happened before we could exchange numbers. We had a really good chat and it was lovely to see those lockdown babies running around as 2.5 year olds Smile

My car-key has been missing all week. I gave up looking only to hear that it would cost £500 to replace it!

I looked for it all day again... and then in despair fell upon my Catholic-childhood's practice and called upon St Anthony. Seconds later (in the very next place I looked) there was that £500 car-key in a pile of newspaper that had already been searched three times and by two people!

I want to know what St. Anthony had been doing with my keys but am reconsidering both my agnosticism and my plan not to attend Mass with my Mother at Easter :)

My work life is tough at the moment so my friend treated me to the theatre and dinner tonight. It felt lovely.

Get well soon OP. There’s lots of other times to look forward to 💐🍷

DH and I went to see “The Duke” in the cinema. It made us laugh out loud.
