Cupcake business name needed!

So my friend and I are setting up a baking side hustle and have drawn a blank on the name so looking for ideas and inspo!

A summary of our business model is cupcakes for parties/weddings, hopefully supplier to cafes, a collection of child friendly ones with hidden veg and lower sugar and then standard ones that are a bit different (think earl grey and black currant, rum and ginger beer, lemon and courgette) etc.

I agree, keep it simple. No puns! Oxfordshire Cake Boutique or Cupcakes by Vivienne or Frosted or something.

Having locations means if people search
Cupcakes + location on Google, they'll see you.

I think if you're starting small then be really careful not to use a name similar to an existing business

Yes – and in fact I’d do some SEO keyword research first to help with the naming.

Agree with PPs that “The Town Name Cupcake Company” or “Town Name Cupcakes” is the route to success here. Or The Town Name Bakery if you want to go upmarket, as cupcakes really aren’t.

I would go for "Town Name" Cakes

It certainly helps when looking for a cake company to know where they are and I wouldn't used "cupcakes" just cakes or you are limiting your market.

The is a market out there for celebration cakes to cut, and matching cupcakes for party bags.

If you’re not making actual cakes, I’d avoid having the word in the title.
[town name] cupcakes is fine.

(I worked in a place that kept making cupcakes, no one bought them, couldn’t give them away for free (they tried!), so I’m wondering how they’d bring money in wherever OP lives)
