Need a very decent yoga mat

I just got back into yoga after a long break and need a new mat. The choice is quite overwhelming.

I do everything from Yin to Ashtanga Vinyasa and so need a pretty decent mat that covers all.

I'm not sure on what thickness is best? I don't want to injure myself, but then don't want a thick spongy mat. I need something with great grip as I sweat a lot. If one side had alignment lines that would be a massive bonus.

Please share your great mats.

I love the Sticky matt no guidelines but perfect for me.

I would have a look on Yoga Studio - I've been very happy with their products. I have a 4.5mm sticky one.

They do lovely alignment mats too

I hate the sticky mats - I slide constantly I can't ground at all. Ends up very stressful!

I really love my Phantai mat

Had it years and it doesn't have a mark on it. Super grippy and cleans easily too

I have a lovely 5mm Gaiam cork mat which has a lovely blend of softness and grip. Mine doesn't have alignment lines but you can get ones which do.

The Liforme mat is the best non-slip mat I've used for hot yoga and is still going strong after 10 years regular use. It is heavy though (if you walk a way to class).

I would go for either Liforme or Yogi Bare. My Yogi Bare mat is brilliant, I've had it for 4 years and it's still going strong. It's worth investing in a decent mat.
