Anyone done online GCSE as an adult

I’m thinking of doing an online GCSEs in a subject I enjoy, for fun.

Can anyone recommend a company to do it, and tell me what I might expect in the way of support?

You don't need a company - you can just do it! With a tutor if you don't want to self-study? There are various exam centres around the country, and you can just arrange to take your exams there, like home educated school age students.

You may find the Mature Study and Retraining board useful! It’s here:

A few people there are taking or retaking GCSEs for various reasons.

@AntoinetteCosway

I’m thinking I could do with some ‘lessons’ though and some accountability to help make it happen!

Does it have to online? Many colleges run GCSE courses in the evenings.

A tutor or college course would be perfect!

I think so… I would love that! I am however frightened of sitting in a classroom with lots of others on a regular basis and getting COVID again and being really ill. I’ve still not recovered from a previous infection 18 months ago. Long Covid is a bitch like that.

I guess I’m

Definitely just get a tutor then, if you'd not like being on a course. But (as an English tutor) I can tell you that GCSEs are incredibly easy once you're an adult Grin You could probably teach yourself most of it and just get a tutor for the final few months to help you with exam technique etc, if you needed a confidence boost. What subject are you thinking of?
