Dream come true / spookily related to future event

I have had a couple of dreams in my life that, while not exactly predicting future events, seem to have been a warning or a signal about something significant.

Anyone else had anything like this? Do you think it is plain coincidence?

If you don’t believe in woo stuff that’s obviously fine, but please be civil and definitely jog onto another thread of your own if you feel tempted to berate others who have different beliefs.

Yes I had one really weird vivid dream end of Dec 2019 that we were all watching the news and gasping at stats/graphs on TV. It was all doom and gloom for 2020 basically. The feeling of the dream was really weird and sad-feeling sad for the children. I told friends after I had a bad feeling 2020 was going to be a bad year.
It felt like it made sense when the covid new bulletins started.

A few months ago I had a weird dream about news updates regarding Russia. Not a lot of detail just watching the news and 'breaking news' regarding Russia popped up again sad feeling.

Years ago I had a really in depth dream about heaven which I still believe to this day 20+years ago now.

@Redbluelellow that’s fascinating! Thanks so much for replying! I think some dreams are definitely something more than just the subconscious.

I've had quite a few over the years. But - you mention coincidence - I tend to see it like any coincidences - i.e. think of all the coincidences that don't happen = think of all the dreams you have that mean nothing. It would be more surprising, really, if you'd never had a dream that presaged real life.

Having said all that, I do think your subconscious can be cleverer than your conscious mind at warning you of things where there are signals you might not have consciously picked up on or consequences your conscious mind hadn't foreseen.

Your subconscious can compare X situation now to Y situation from 25 years ago that's buried deeply in your memory banks, and make its recommendations through the medium of your dreams. That's not really a 'woo' thing, just proof of how complex the brain is.

Yes.
I've dreamed of war, about a year before the stuff started with Russia invading Ukraine. But in my dream the war involved us in some way, because of Nato. Understandably, I was shitting it once Putin invaded and what might happen if Nato had to get involved. I'm still apprehensive that my dream hasn't played out fully.

I also dreamed of the chemical poisoning incident at the pool in London a few weeks before it was on the news, except the people were somehow on a ferry instead of at the pool. But the P&O ferry furore happened around the same time, maybe my premonition got a bit wonky. Grin

I don't pay attention to all my dreams but some of them are interesting in hindsight. Some are just random and a bit mad.

I had a really in depth dream about heaven

I had one of those when I was about 11. I'd been murdered by burglars and went to heaven, where I was met by the Virgin Mary who was all in blue robes. Not remotely religious so no idea where that came from. Anyway, the room I found myself in had warm, roughly hewn stone walls and windows with no glass, which looked out onto a bay of bright blue water where enormous brightly coloured fish were swimming. Everything felt very comfortable and relaxed. I'd be okay with that place for an afterlife, it seemed really nice.

I've had a few things like this, not always dreams. I saw Princess Diana on TV a few months before her death and had an overwhelming feeling that she would not be alive much longer.

I dreamt about getting chickenpox the night before I got it, I think my subconscious must have picked up on something

Here's my post from that other thread - saves me typing it again Grin

I dreamt the Concorde crash, even down to it taking off from Paris and flipping over. I even remember thinking " this isn't a dream, this is real". It was so vivid and disturbing that I told DH and my colleagues about it (don't normally bore people with my dreams).

When it actually happened less than a week later, they were as freaked out as I was. I almost felt guilty as if I'd brought it on.

ParkheadParadise · 05/04/2022 20:17

The night my dd was murdered I was sleeping in bed. I heard dd coming up the stairs and she came and sat on my bed, I was pregnant at the time she told me she knew what I was having. I got up to look for her and told DH in the morning that she had been in the house during the night.
I got ready to go to her flat when the police came to our door.
At the time I gave a statement to the police saying she had been here the night before, it was only when they checked CCTV they told me it wasn't possible for her to be in the house during the night.
Our Family liaison office showed me the CCTV because I was adamant she had been in the house.
Years later I still don't understand what happened that night because it felt so real.

I dreamt I visited my mum with my daughter and baby son (I don't have a son) and the next day found out I was pregnant. Totally thought that was just my the possibility of being pregnant playing on my mind. Until I lost the baby and my mum told me she had I dream I visited with my daughter and had left my son behind with nan. She never new I was pregnant and nan had passed away years ago.

There's a psychotherapist who has been collecting dream reports, originally on Trump melmagazine.com/en-us/story/trump-45-dreams-project-psychotherapist-interview , now trying the same approach for environment and climate change.

There are themes that emerge with people reporting dreams with similar features - some, I think, make sense from the direction of mass media, but other parts seem very much in symbolic territory.

ENoeuf · 06/04/2022 10:19

@ParkheadParadise there are things we don’t understand, I’m so sorry for your loss of your daughter but I do believe in your experience.
When my dad died I was a young teen and I dreamed I looked over the bannisters to see him leaving the house with a short black friend. He didn’t have any that I knew of, and later my mum told me his friend had died years before. It felt like he’d come to walk with him.

Throughout childhood and a few times since I had a recurring dream about a plane crash landing in a field. It was always the same and I was watching from a window. About 10 years ago we moved to a village through house exchange . It had been a difficult period in my life and although I had viewed the house I can't say I really took much in. The first morning in the new house I opened the bedroom curtains and properly looked at the view. The field in my dreams is about 100 metres from the window.

I had a really vivid dream about my paternal grandfather just after he died. I also had a really vivid dream about my uncles funeral - at the church (which I had never been to ) we were all seated across four rows on the right hand side in exactly the same place as in my dream and the three pews on the left hand side of the aisle were empty as in my dream. except in my dream my uncle and grandfather were sitting there!
