If my blood pressure is good, does it matter that my pulse is a bit high?

Blood pressure is 120/80 but my pulse is around 97 resting. I'm 53yo, 11 stone & 5ft6. Does this sound ok? I only ask because I've had a mild headache all day & I wondered if it's related?

There’s about a 0.01% chance that this is even vaguely relevant…. I’ve been /am in hospital recently and was healing very nicely apart from a very mildly elevated pulse and they insisted on a check scan and it’s a teeny tiny pulmonary embolism. If I were you I’d go to the doc and do the Embarrassed Brit Dance of “I’m sure it’s nothing and I’m being ridiculous but…”

I’ve always been like that too. I put it down to not being physically active.

I’m physically active though!Grin

Well I had high blood pressure and low resting pulse Confused

I think the high blood pressure is more of a problem than a high resting pulse?

When I noticed I had a high resting pulse - around 100 - it turned out I was hyperthyroid. (in my case transiently, an episode of thyroiditis).

Over 90 does seem an aberrantly high resting pulse for an adult; worth talking to a GP about it I think.
