I've just read online that it is possible to claim Universal Credit whilst on maternity leave.
I work for the NHS and had been planning on taking 9 months leave however after finding out I'm pregnant with twins I would much rather take the full year off but really didn't think I could afford it.
It looks like online I can claim basically once I go on to statutory maternity leave and then obviously on unpaid leave and possibly manage to take the full year. Has anyone done this?
I'm main breadwinner, DH is on roughly £1500 per month so dropping to unpaid leave with no income on my part is not an option.
