Winter Close at Epsom

I just spotted a nice property near Winter Close of Epsom! Is it safe around there? Does it belong to the Longmead are that should be avoided? Areas around Farriers Road are all council housing? And does it fall into the catchment area for Wallace Field Junior School? New to Epsom, want to know more from existing resident. Thanks :)

It’s not near enough Longmead to be a problem, but I don’t think you’ll be in Wallace Fields catchment unfortunately. It’s less than a mile last time I looked into it. Epsom Primary is not that great by all accounts. Wallace Fields is a great school and that house is in a pretty nice area, although Epsom High St is a bit nothingy these days.

@Badgerloco Thanks for your valuable comments! I saw from some websites that the area may fall within the catchment of Wallace Fields Junior School but not for its infant school. Still wonder the difference in admission criteria between the infant and junior school.

Not the Longmead Estate but I would be surprised if you got a place at Wallace Fields from there.

If you look on the Surrey website for school admissions data it will tell you how many pupils got in under each priority category and the furthest away pupil to get in in the last category whcih should give you an idea.

Not sure if it’s the 3 or 4 bed you were looking at on that road. If the three bed then there’s other good properties close to good schools I would look at.

The 3 bed on Albert Road would likely get you in to either Wallace Fields or St Martin’s - both great schools. Also look at the two on Woodcote Green Road.

@AlistairCamel It seems the catchment area for Wallace Fields is smaller than I expected. Thanks for your advice and will take a look on your mentioned houses.
