Silent reflux - how long does it last?

First time posting and desperately looking for some answers!
My little boy, 3.5 months is struggling with silent reflux and has had done since birth. It seems to be getting worse the older he gets and is now at the point where he will not sleep unless being held.
I’ve tried absolutely everything to help so not looking for tips on how to cure silent reflux (unless there’s a miracle cure that not the usual suggestions) but rather looking for an idea of when things started to improve. I’m reading it takes ‘up to a year’ but I don’t think I can take this for another 8 months!
Also, did people see a gradual improvement and any other examples of it getting worse around 4 months?
Thank you

I feel for you. Both my DD had reflux and it is really draining. They were prescribed ranitidine and donperidone, which I think helped a bit. What really helped was once they were able to hold themselves upright more (around 6m). We had them in an exersaucer as soon as they were able and that helped a lot, as they were totally upright while they played and they were much happier. Same with those bouncers you hang in the doorway, and baby carrier rather than laid down in pram. It definitely fades rather than disappears, as they become more mobile and bigger. Weaning may also help a bit, when it’s time. Still causes my DD1 to have a persistent cough.

Thank you for your reply!
In fact, I just cut dairy from my diet as a last attempt of something that might help and have seen such a difference already!
Just wanted to post in case anyone reads this thread… try a dairy free diet!

Ds had it as a baby, I raised the head of his cot about 3 inches, he slept in his bouncy chair during the day so he wasn't laid flat. It faded at around 6 months, I tried to keep him sat up for 20 minutes after a feed, I weaned him at 4.5 months & it improved as soon as he started on thicker foods like baby rice.
