Gousto delivery problems - Hermes/Evri

Inklingpot · 04/04/2022 16:27

I’ve been using Gousto for over a year. I like their recipes and until recently, delivery has been totally reliable. Previously it was always DPD or City Sprint but recently they seem to have started using Hermes/Evri and I’ve just had notification that Hermes have managed to destroy my food box for the THIRD time in less than two months.

I’m pretty fucked off, tbh. Gousto have apologised each time and given me money off the next box but the whole point of using them is that the food gets delivered!

Has anyone else had the same problem with Gousto and Hermes? I know they have a terrible rep, but outside of Gousto I’ve never had a problem.

I’m seriously considering cancelling my Gousto account now. I didn’t like Hello Fresh or Mindful Chef so there’s not a lot left out there.

No-one? Just me, I guess! Grin

Not just you. I have had the same problem with Gousto/Hermes, and had to be refunded more than once. But not good enough, really, so cancelled my account.

Jellycatrabbit · 04/04/2022 19:50

I've had three refunds for clothes ordered for delivery by Evri in the last three weeks. I suspect they either can't find my house or decided it's too far from the main road to be economic to deliver. Getting pretty fed up with them too.

ThierryEnnui · 04/04/2022 19:52

I had an issue with an Evri order this week (not a food box) - is it a simple name change from Hermes or is this an acquisition? Latter could explain things, I guess…

AWombleScorned · 04/04/2022 19:57

My Evri parcel was to be delivered today (not Gousto) but there’s no sign of it and no update Hmm

Inklingpot · 04/04/2022 20:57

It’s so irritating. Our actual Hermes/Evri courier is very good but the food boxes aren’t even making it out for delivery, they’re just getting smashed up in the depot.

I used to have no issues when it was Hermes but since name change parcels are taking much longer to get through the network. We still have the same driver he's not the issue the issue seems to be before the parcels get to him. Been waiting week and half for a package from them. Saying that parcel force are worse 2 weeks and counting and my package has not moved from where it was posted.

Anomalocaris · 04/04/2022 21:18

I only order Gousto for Sunday deliveries as then it's always DPD, otherwise it's Yodel here and have had too many crap experiences with them.

Groovee · 04/04/2022 21:22

My colleague gets her on a Monday by Evri where as I get mine on a Sunday by DPd. She definitely has more issues than me.

Yep. Mine was "out for delivery" and expected "TODAY between 18.00 - 20.00". But this was yesterday! And my tracking info still says the same thing... still has Sunday 3rd on it, so unless they've started using time machines then it's not on time. I never had a problem with Hermes before, so this is annoying; worse still is that there is no customer service whatsoever. You can't speak to anyone or even message. Their chat thing is a bot that reassured me my parcel would still arrive in time. It's already a day late! Hmm

I’ve always got mine on a Monday until now but I’ll try Sunday.

I'm pretty sure they feel my house is uneconomic to deliver to as well. They just send back stuff from the local depot. I avoid those who use them for delivery.
LittleDidSheKnow · 05/04/2022 07:24

That must be it: I'm another who lives a little bit out of the way, so they probably don't bother coming here unless they've got a pile or something. I really want my lovely, new (to me) coat from Vinted!
Every other courier gets here on time, and Hermes used to, too.

NutCheeseBag · 05/04/2022 12:42

Complain to the company you’re buying from, every time. Let’s them know it reflects badly on them.

Redglitter · 05/04/2022 12:54

I hate Hermes. I ordered an item from Next on Sat, for delivery Sunday. Was out for delivery, never arrived, app updated that they couldn't deliver but would the next day. Exactly the same thing happened yesterday
Its out for delivery AGAIN today but I'm not holding my breath

Hermes is the only courier in this area that features heavily on the local FB pages with people trying to locate parcels which have been delivered but not at their house or trying to contact the driver

Absolutely useless company

Inklingpot · 10/04/2022 11:38

So having changed my delivery to today in the hope that I’d get DPD, guess who I get instead? Yep, Evri.

Currently, the tracking status is that they have the box and will let me know when it’s out for delivery. Given that it’s nearly midday, I’m guessing that it won’t get delivered again. I’ve decided that if it doesn’t turn up today, I’m cancelling my Gousto account. This will be the fourth time and I’ve had enough.

Yes I have same issue. Gousto is good but delivery shocking I have stayed in all day for it not to be delivered just a nightmare

smooththecat · 13/10/2022 11:12

I don’t understand how these couriers can deliver fresh food without a climate controlled van such as the supermarkets have. Anyone enlighten me?

They come packed with large ice packs and insulation.

I don't understand why companies keep using Evri. I would happily pay more to get DPD.

Not food related but I've had to get a refund for a coat I ordered next day delivery last week. Evri have lost it. My daughter needed a new coat as she lost hers so I had to buy a second and pester the first supplier for a refund.

They use good packaging. Even if the box is on my doorstep for hours in the summer the ice packs are still frozen and the non chilled still at an ambient temperature.
