Things to do and where to stay in Brighton

We are planning a trip to Brighton in the summer with our 13 & 11 year olds.

Can anyone recommend any good areas to stay, or to avoid? We’ve found somewhere right at the Marina - would this location be ok?

Also wondering if there are any must dos we should book prior to going.

Thank you all in advance!

Marina is a good spot...The Laines for shopping. Sea-life centre for kids, beach. Loads of clubs, cafes, eateries. The Pavilion is a good visit. Comedy store for an evening...

Marina is good but its about a 30 minute walk into Brighton (although there is a little train or busses you can get).

There is the upside down house which is fun.

You might want stay in hove over Brighton. It's a short walk & much quieter.

Stuff to do in & around Brighton:

paradoxplace.co.uk
Climbing wall at withdean
Swimming at the triangle
Upside down house
I360
Laser quest
Komedia
Arundel castle
www.amberleymuseum.co.uk/explore/explore-transport/
The pier
Yellow wave
Hove lagoon for water sports

Enjoy!!

I wouldn't stay at the marina. It's not that great, not very Brighton-y and far away from everything. Mostly a bunch of chain restaurants. Hove or Brighton would be best but really depends what you want - hotel / air bnb / quiet or in the thick of it etc. I'd want to stay on or near the seafront personally.

Thank you all! I’ll take a look at places a bit more central.

The i360 tower
And there's a Vegan Fish&Chips shop called No Catch which was delicious ( I didn't really like fish when I was a non-vegetarian )

With our young teens, we hired bikes on the seafront - just to right of pier as you look out to sea. Then headed left towards the Marina - within quarter mile it is quiet, woth a wide flat cycle path which follows the bottom of cliffs for miles ( didn't make it that far!) Various little cafes etc along the way
