Please recommend nice fragrances for someone very young

She is 13. Obviously I will smell before I buy, but just some ideas to start would be nice - all my own stuff is French and extravagantly womanly, or I use nothing at all. I want to give her a pretty fragrance that suits her (and keeps her off the £1 body sprays that make my eyes water)

not too expensive ideally but not cheap as chips either

To be clear - this is purely cosmetic, she has no BO at all (not that this woudl be the way to solve it)

super drug is good for perfumes for the younger market

ComtesseDeSpair · 03/04/2022 13:21

Paul Smith’s Rose is lovely - not at all “old lady” rose, but like being in a room full of fresh cut roses.

I used to like Nina Ricci’s Nina when I was a teenager; I still quite like it now though wouldn’t wear it as I do think it smells quite “young.”

Marc Jacobs Daisy, very fresh and pretty.

Ariana Grande Cloud. Smells so nice. I actually got some for myself.

Gucci Bamboo is lovely for a young person and not too £££. It was DD’s first proper perfume when she was 13.

GeneLovesJezebel · 03/04/2022 13:26

My young girls like the Ariana Grande perfumes.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 03/04/2022 13:26

Body Shop rebel rosebud or glowing cherry blossom eau de toilette
This discovery set from Next was also popular with my niece

tigerbird · 03/04/2022 13:27

Was just going to say my niece likes Daisy - I also recommend Nuxe Reve de The which is very much like the Kenzo fragrance I used to wear as a teenager.

justaweeone · 03/04/2022 13:27

Jo Malone ones are nice
Prada candy
Also the Marc Jacobs daisy ones

PAFMO · 03/04/2022 13:29

The Philosophy 'Grace' perfumes are lovely, clean and soapy.
Prada Infusions d'Iris is also light, clean and soapy.
Prada Candy, slightly sweeter but not as sweet as the name implies
Cacharel Noa
Davidoff Clear Water
Clinique Happy
Any of the Chanel Chances (they are marketed at young adult women) Likewise Dior Joy and Hermes Twilly.
The original Burberry ones.

Off the top of my head these are all perfumes my DD liked as a younger teenager.

Moschino Toy (there are two variations) if you want "proper" perfume, otherwise Next, Zara and Body Shop.

MrsElm · 03/04/2022 13:41

My DD11 has Wildflower by Skinny Dip. It's a beautiful, light, floral scent.

Ted Baker- London
Ted Baker- Ella
Dior- Miss Dior

Reb'l Fleur by Rhianna is a lovely scent. Not overpowering but lasts all day. Really reasonably priced too.

SusieMyersonAndAssociates · 03/04/2022 15:27

Very simple suggestion but A Lily of the Vally eau de parfum spray would be perfect. As would a cherry blossom or moonflower.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 03/04/2022 15:31

Ghost Daydream
Vera Wang Princess

Lwren · 03/04/2022 15:55

I'm 36 and my skin doesn't suit expensive perfume.
I love the Arianna grande range, and Britney ones.
I love my friends pricey perfumes but on my skin they smell rank

SenselessUbiquity · 03/04/2022 16:31

Thank you all! I will enjoy trying these out.

@SenselessUbiquity

Thank you all! I will enjoy trying these out.
Just don’t try them all in the same day - you’ll end up nose blind and smelling like an explosion in a fragrance factory!
SenselessUbiquity · 03/04/2022 17:47

ha ha you're right smell fatigue is a real thing!

I will start with the ones where I think she will like the names :)
