Do you have any exam day traditions?

My PFB sits her Highers this year, and I’m so glad that she gets to have the experience. I still have such clear memories of feeling like I was on the cusp of adulthood.

My dad showed his nerves by making huge amounts of burnt toast and builders’ tea and reminding me to read the question.

The girls have what has been called 'magic egg', since they were tiny. Poached egg, toast and jam.

On exam days, we always took the girls to school/college just in case something went wrong with public transport

As a teacher I would advise against it. Good night sleep, wake up a little earlier than usual to have a calm morning, breakfast and make sure they are there on time. No point relying on traditions/superstitions etc they will become dependent on and then more anxious when it doesn't happen.

I did this during GCSEs on days of morning exams as the buses were unreliable and could be late and the other option of the train wasn't possible due to train strikes.
