Parking in Warwick

I’m visiting Warwick Castle next week and hoping to go for food in Warwick afterwards. I can’t figure out where to park as it looks like several of the car parks close when the castle closes at 5pm. Any locals who can clarify/recommend the best places to park for castle and then food after, probably leaving Warwick at 7pm ish?

St. Nicholas Park - https://www.warwickdc.gov.uk/info/20547/warwickcarrparks/633/stnicholassparkcarrparkmap

Just a short walk from the Castle and max stay is ten hours. Free after 6pm.

St Nick's is your best bet.

Or TBH if you don't mind a walk, park further out. There's a new gastro place that was call the Racehorse, now No34 grill and garden. You can park on street there and walk in to the Castle.

It's not an easy park on Warwick, town centre is tiny, and we have recently lost the only 'multistorey' where you could park for more than 2hrs.

If you go for St Nick's it's about 10 minutes max walk up into town. Food wise you are spoiled for choice. For families is can heartily recommend Dough & Brew for really awesome pizza and silent film club (with headphones) for kids.

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful!

But in reality bar the castle and st nicks what is there to see in Warwick town centre? A few shops?!

GuyFawkesDay · 02/04/2022 22:40

@Ilostit pretty certain that's not what the OP asked?

There's plenty to see. It's a small town centre but lots of history to investigate.

Ilostit · 02/04/2022 22:44

Just saying! Better off driving over to Stratford or even Leamington 5 mins away is better.

No more silent film club! Massive TV has been removed. Still great food though.

St Nick's for parking. Lots of lovely places to eat including the Globe & Dough and Brew.

Thank you! Think we’ll aim for St Nicks for parking :)

I know you didn't ask for food recommendations but Revive and Picollinos both on Smith Street (close to St Nick's) are good. Ooh and the Rose and Crown on Market Square.

Have a great day!

@Ilostit I'm pretty certain it's a bloody long way to walk to Warwick Castle (where the OP is visiting) from Stratford or Leamington.

There's plenty to do in Warwick. Add in Ltd Leycester hospital and St Mary's and there's a good few hours to be had outside the castle, then St Nick's etc.
Granted there's work going on at those places at the mo, it's what had to happen with historic buildings.
Leamington has far fewer places of interest, other than shopping. It's gorgeous, and I love it but it's not exactly somewhere tourists visit now. It's just a town locals use.
