Moderna fourth jab - feel like shit

MrsMigginsCat · 02/04/2022 18:51

I had my 4th jab yesterday. Ive got a condition which meant I was eligible. Boy, I feel terrible. Had two AZ and was fine. Booster was Moderna and it didn't affect me at all. But this one has wiped me out. I'm shivery, tired and achy and just feel sorry for myself. Debating whether just to give in ago to bed, but it's only ten to 7!

I've only had 3 jabs but my 3rd (booster) was Moderna and I've not been well since.

It is of course just coincidental but almost immediately after I had a nasty and ongoing flare of my autoimmune condition.

First two were Pfizer.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 02/04/2022 19:01

Poor you. Hope you feel better soon!!

I had Moderna for the 3rd booster. Horrific effects. I was very very poorly. Thankfully it passed by the 3rd day.

I just had Pfizer 4th jab. The nurse said take 2 paracetamol as soon as you get home and 2 before bed regardless. Waiting to see what tomorrow brings.

NannyGythaOgg · 02/04/2022 19:33

Not had a third and not going to.

Fully vaccinated as far as regulations for travel are concerned and that was my reasoning for getting vaccinated.

Boosting my immune system with Vitamins C and D and zinc. Pretty sure that will do me more long term good than a vaccination that seems to give little protection short term and what little it does give wanes quickly.

I've had AstraZeneca, Moderna and a Biontech booster. Moderna was by far the worst....40 degree fever and couldn't move from my bed.
Just sack the evening off and go and sleep.

DH has had 3 Moderna - first two he felt fine but he felt really poorly after the 3rd. Hope you feel better soon.

Guineapigssweak · 02/04/2022 20:01

No way would I have a 4th!! The virus won't make you seriously I'll now anyway it's really mild. 3 vaccines are more than enough. I'll be worried about my heart too much!!

MyDcAreMarvel · 02/04/2022 20:04

@Guineapigssweak what a stupid comment, 4th vaccines are for immune compromised people.

Usingit · 02/04/2022 20:05

I would go to bed OP, I felt bad after my Moderna booster, luckily felt ok next day but did get mild Shingles from it. Hopefully you will feel better tomorrow. Probably watch any TV on catch up tomorrow and have a rest.

BashfulClam · 02/04/2022 20:10

DH felt like crap after his Moderna booster too. Paracetamol and bed are all you can do.

MrsMigginsCat · 02/04/2022 20:43

I've given in. Night all. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning. I'm meant to be cold water swimming tomorrow at 10, which I love so don't want to still feel poo.

I'm having my 5th vaccine next weekend. I was a trial participant for the first 2 vaccines. Then had 2 Pfizer and this will be my "booster" according to the nhs. We can't travel without having a booster! I was so ill after the first 2 Pfizers I am dreading the booster but the lure of a holiday is stronger.

I hope you feel better soon, lots of paracetamol and an antihistamine can help lots. Take them every 4 hours no matter what.
