Gift to myself ideas

I have gone through a horrible work ordeal and now have received a large settlement.

I would like to buy something nice just for me (1 - 2k) that will be a reminder of the time I went to hell and back, stood by my morals and got through it.

Apologies if distasteful with current cost of living etc.

Any ideas as I am stuck, I’d like something to keep rather than a holiday etc

Glad to hear that you're out the other side

I get vouchers for long service so at 10 years I bought myself a watch and at 15 years I went for a handbag. Not especially original but nice keepsakes.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? If you're a cook you could get amazing knives or a decent mixer? If a reader, a beautiful Folio Society collection? A bike or other sports equipment if like the outdoors?

The list is endless!

Jewellery?
Is there a hobby you’d like to take up but couldn’t afford? Riding, cycling?
New wardrobe of quality clothes?
Patio furniture?
Greenhouse if you’re green fingered?
Piece of art? Sculpture?
Piece of furniture?

Jewelry of your choice.

I guess jewellery or an expensive bag would be the obvious choices.

If it was me, I’d spend £2k on a nice summerhouse and some furniture for it for the garden, somewhere where I could sit and feel peaceful and happy. Something to balance out any negativity I might still feel about the situation.

I bought National Trust life membership with some inheritance. The rest has gone on practical things but I’ll always have that as something special to remember my dear relative by.

Ooh, I love the idea of a piece of art. I'd get something by Jack Frame.

Is there any furniture you need, that’s what I often buy to mark something significant then I can look at it and use it and am reminded of whatever the event etc is?

A designer handbag that can be used daily

If you like jewellery, a pair of classic diamond studs. DH recently bought me a pair for a significant birthday. I've wanted some for so long.
