No smart meter meters

Does anyone have a electricity meter reader, that is accurate, but not a smart meter? Are they a real thing?

Not sure what you mean OP, I have a smart meter but also an electric meter under the stairs which I can take accurate readings from.

Do you mean so you can monitor how much you pay? Presumably you have a meter somewhere that records the changing kwh. I'm not sure you would get something that converts that to cost unless you have a smart meter, because it would need to access your current rates. You could do some maths on the kwh but that always hurts Mt head! Personally I find a smart meter easier but I know many are anti them.

All meters will be accurate (apart from the very smallm% which develop a fault)
Smart or otherwise

You can get something called an owl electricity metre which will show you your use but won't communicate with your energy supplier, if that's what you mean by not smart. But I don't know if there is something similar for gas.

Thanks all, it’s was an owl meter I’d heard someone talk about. I’ll have a look

Yes we have one. Fitted it a few months ago. It is smart as it recognises what our solar panels produce and what we import and export to the grid.
That's it. No one else gets to know.
