My previous thread: Excruciating pain- root canal needed :( www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/4457326-excruciating-pain-root-canal-needed
Had a temporary filling put in a few weeks ago and was awaiting RCT but while flossing my teeth last night, a huge chunk of tooth chipped away- exposing the lower bit of the tooth with the temporary filling still in situ. I've been for an emergency appointment this morning and the dentist put on something like chewing gum over the chip/exposed tooth but said I needed to prioritise the RCT as a matter of urgency. I think I'd better have the tooth out instead? Especially since it's now chipped down once side and I'll mostly require a lifetime of top-ups of fillings, crack repairs, etc.? Is that a good move? I'm 38 and value my smile but value my sanity more- I'm a wimp and can't handle tooth pain. At. All.
