Tummy Tuck on Tuesday!

yellowwhiteblack · 01/04/2022 15:31

Hi everyone,

I'm booked in for a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and a breast lift with implants on Tuesday 😱

I'm excited but also a bit scared. I've got to go for a PCR tomorrow and providing it's negative then it will go ahead as planned. Currently I'm more worried about the pcr being negative as I've had this booked since September last year and I'm SO ready for it, got everything planned and sorted, so for it to be cancelled would just be devastating. Thinking positive though.

Just wondered if anyone who has been through similar has any advice/info on post op care, or things they wish they'd have known while recovering Smile

I've just come across your thread, following and going to read through it all when i get time, your figure looks amazing! I'm considering a tummy tuck and breast lift but no implants, i have a consultation next week and I'm getting a bit nervous just thinking about the whole thing! I have dresses like yours and would love to wear them again but I'm just to self conscious of my belly pooch at the mo

LetitiaLeghorn · 06/05/2022 13:03

I love this thread, Lola, but maybe not as much as your gorgeous dog. 😍 Most of mumsnet is full of doom and gloom and this thread is so uplifting. No pun intended. 😉
You look fab. The surgeon has done a great job but you have too, following his instructions so well. You've really fantastic results.

LolaMontezz · 06/05/2022 13:12

Thanks both! That's really nice of you Smile

I was really self conscious of my lower tummy too and I used to wear high waisted EVERYTHING to try to hide it or squash it down. I know mine doesn't look like much to some people but it really used to get me down. And there was absolutely no hope for my breasts. They headed south on a one way ticket, there was absolutely no way they'd ever come back again or look half decent without intervention.

I am glad I had the surgery, despite the occasional thought of "wtf have I done?!" I know things will keep improving. Just looking forward to being able to go back to the gym so I can start properly sculpting my new body and abs! Smile

Haha she is gorgeous and rather smelly too! Stinky old Labrador Grin

@LolaMontezz thanks for your reply. You look amazing! I'm.glad you're recovering well. It's good to hear by the 4 week mark you're back to normal mobility. I will be glad to get rid of my post baby C-section pouch and I think possibly I need a muscle repair.

I'm gonna be totally cheeky and haven't read full thread and ask how much it all cost ?
Please don't say if you'd rather not :)

LolaMontezz · 06/05/2022 20:49

That's ok, I don't mind - it is further up thread anyway. It was £13,330 (I think, I can't remember full amount now but around that) - that was for both procedures, all hospital care and stay, medication, etc and any follow ups included.
I've been back three times for check ups and will have a final one at three months but any problems in the mean time I can go back with no further cost.

@LolaMontezz i had my consultation yesterday and the consultant said i would get very good results from a regular tummy tuck than a mini tummy tuck. Can i ask which you had? He explained the scar for a regular one is slightly higher and wider which is a concern for me as I expected the scar to be below my bikini line. He went through all the options regarding breast surgery and i think I'm set on a breast lift with a fat graft, but even thinking about surgery makes me so nervous!

LolaMontezz · 18/05/2022 05:13

Hi @pinacolada321 I had a full tummy tuck, the mini wasn't an option for me as I needed muscle repair and hernia repair etc so I just had the big one.

My scar is higher too, this is because I didn't have enough laxity in the skin under my boob/on ribs, as that was still tight. So the surgeon couldn't pull all my skin down far enough to get the scar super low. It does still sit in my pants though and I'm happy with where it is Smile

it is very scary and I felt a whole range of emotions throughout the process. You will be ok though. I'm now 6 weeks out and it feels like a lifetime ago!

LolaMontezz · 22/05/2022 09:09

Good morning everyone, today I am 7 weeks and 5 days post op and for the first time this morning since my surgery, I have seen my abs!

I've been pretty "boxy" due to swelling, which is entirely normal and to be expected following a tummy tuck procedure. I really had no definition despite being flat and it's the definition I was really wanting to achieve with this surgery as I wouldn't be able to get it naturally due to the muscles being split etc.

Anyway... here's a photo, taken this morning! I am feeling very pleased indeed! Grin feel like I'm getting where I want to be 🤞🏼

vovvon99 · 23/05/2022 21:40

Hi there. 👋 Hope you're feeling well. Just wanted to reach out and ask about your your surgery. How did it go and how are you finding the recovery?
Like you, I've been booked for some months and am due to go ahead in July so would really appreciate your input if you can.

Thanks and wishing you well.

vovvon99 · 23/05/2022 21:58

OMG, you look AMAZING!!!

LolaMontezz · 23/05/2022 22:05

Hi 👋🏻 the surgery went well according to my surgeon. I think it was just over 4 hrs in duration but obviously I didn't know anything about it until I woke up (thankfully).

The recovery is hard, I cannot lie. I think for me the most difficult part was feeling generally gross, as in sweaty and uncomfortable from wearing the binder and support bra. In the first four weeks they have to be worn for a minimum of 23 hrs a day. For someone who usually sleeps with nothing on, because I get too hot, this was like torture and it made me feel quite miserable. I also got quite spotty, I couldn't/wasn't allowed to have a wax so was hairy too and felt very much not like myself. Add to that the pain from the surgery, not being able to stand up straight etc it did get me down. I felt quite itchy from the binder too, I also developed a blister on my hip from it rubbing on me but that has now healed and gone away.

I'm 8 weeks post op tomorrow, I'm pain free, I can walk a considerable distance (did four miles yesterday), I can have baths and showers, I can go back to wearing a normal bra as of tomorrow, I've been waxed, I can sleep naked, I've been able to be intimate with my husband, I can pick my kids up, the list goes on. I'm essentially pretty close to normal now. I still have strange sensations in my tummy area, it kind of feels numb and sometimes tingly, which makes me feel a bit weird.

I am swollen still, I think this is something to keep in mind as I didn't realise how long you can be swollen for post op. Apparently in some cases it can be up to a year, which can obviously feel disheartening when you don't have the results you want straight away.
It is a process and a major operation. It has taken me a long time to start feeling like I can do minor things without fear of hurting myself but I'm certainly improving all the time.

I hope your surgery goes well Smile

pinacolada321 · 24/05/2022 19:30

Wow it's great to see your results, I'm surprised at just how flat looking the scars are, that's really reassuring! You look amazing!

LolaMontezz · 25/05/2022 06:05

Thank you ☺️
Yes I'm very pleased with the scars, obviously they should fade away nicely. Just thought it worth mentioning that I haven't put anything on them at all, I've left them well alone. I have bought some bio oil to start using, but lotions and potions are not recommended (at least they weren't by my surgeon and hospital) for at least 4 weeks IIRC for the boobs and longer still for the tummy. I've probably been over cautious, however I didn't want to ruin anything! So being very careful Grin

Lndnmummy · 25/05/2022 07:08

@LolaMontezz you look sensational!

LolaMontezz · 03/08/2022 21:21

Hello everyone, thought I'd give an update as I am almost 4 months post op now. The time has flown but it also feels like a lot longer ago than that that I was in the hospital!

Things have been going well. The only issue I've really had was I had a teeny tiny infection around one nipple, it was about the size of a grain of rice. I caught it really early as I'm pretty obsessive about checking everything and I spotted it straight away. Antibiotics and a dressing solved that.

My tummy scar is a bit too raised currently and on the advice of my surgeon I've strayed wearing silicone tape, which I've had on practically 24/7. It seems to be helping so continuing with it. He did say it can take months to really see results but it's no hardship wearing it so I'm happy to carry on.

Also just started going back to the gym properly and feeling fairly normal all over. I'm taking it steady-ish and I'll back off if it feels uncomfortable but so far so good!

Recent pics attached.

Looks great OP

batistamea · 02/10/2022 23:01

Hi! This operation is indicated in the presence of a small excess of skin in the lower abdomen and a slight divergence of the rectus muscles. The advantage of this operation is that the incision length will be small, and rehabilitation will be faster compared to classical abdominoplasty. The seam is positioned so that it is subsequently covered with underwear. This is a great solution, especially for those who have recently given birth. My wife used tummy tuck virginia and now looks amazing.

Poodlelover89 · 06/07/2023 23:38

Hiya!

You look amazing!!! I hope this isn't too forward but I'm due to have a consultation for all that you had done next month but am undecided about breast implants size. Can I ask what size you went for?
