Can't keep weight off

I can't believe I'm posting a thread about weight loss when until about 5 years ago I was incredibly skinny, unable to keep any weight on.

Ever since I had my DD at almost 40 yo, I'm only putting weight on. I'm only having 2 meals a day, small breakfast and lunch. I skip most dinners or only have a salad. Yet I'm unable to lose any weight, if I dare eating a slice of bread or pizza I'd have to fast for a week. I'm not exercising a lot due to a bad back, but I'm out on my feet all day. I avoid junk, most meals are home made, healthy, lots of fruits and veggies.

I'm hypothyroid which is controlled, but I've been on medication since I was 20, so no change there.

Anyone can relate and has any words of advice?

I am exactly the same and also have an underactive thyroid. I put it down to thyroid and age.

Had bloods done recently? May been medication adjusted if not.
If other symptoms, make a note of them in a diary.

If you are really eating that little your metabolism might have ground to a halt. You have to be pretty low for that to happen, under a 1000 I believe. Or.. you might be so hungry you are picking.

Get your thyroid checked, try eating 3 balanced meals, work out what your calorie need should be to loose a pound a week and work to that. Keep a food diary for 3 weeks. Protein and fibre to fill you up.

It sounds like eating too little is slowing down your metabolism
