Just that really.

It doesn't expire as such, but it's factor reduces. So for example, if you bought say a factor 50 and used an amount this summer, then put it away, then next year it would be reduced to approx factor 40 and so on.
Unused sun cream makes a great body lotion though.

The physical sunscreens (zinc oxide or titanium oxide based) generally won't degrade too much. But anything that uses a chemical sunscreen - which is many of the higher factors - will degrade with time. Not to useless after 12 months, but not upto the factor stated on the bottle.

He was trying to convince me that would be Ok with sunscreen that, now I think about it is probably older than the Shroud of Turin.

Well 2019 to be exact, used in 2019, not in 2020 (obvs) used September last year.

I think I might be dicing with sunburn, so I am going to buy some fresh stuff.
