Solo trip away - what do I need to take?

Getting ridiculously excited about a long postponed trip I’ve booked to Spain in a couple of weeks. It’s just me, only for 3 nights and I’ll be staying at a type of retreat, all very low key and not at all chi-chi but does things like yoga, meditation, healthy eating, hikes etc.

First trip abroad for 2 years, and first solo trip since I can’t remember!

What do I need to take?!

Just checked the weather and it’s sunny! Was about 20 degrees today. I’ll take it!

I'm in the South of France and it snowed last night.

I don't think I'd take a power pack unless you really expect to use your phone a lot in remote areas - it has to go in your carry-on in case of fire risk (as does anything with lithium batteries, I think).

But remember your charger, and plug converters! Both English and Spanish ones, and possibly USB ones that plug into the wall plug. Many airports will have power points anyway so you can recharge if needed.

Outdoor clothes, indoor clothes, underclothes
Indoor shoes, walking shoes.
Pyjamas/nigthwear
Toiletries - think through your day. Hair care, deodorant, any makeup, removers, creams etc. Liquids and pastes in small clear bag if you're taking them in carry on (and 100ml or less). Sanitary supplies, medications, suncream, emergency things like blister plasters
Camera and plugs/accessories
Random things like plastic bags, coat hangers, padlocks
Sunglasses, spare glasses/contacts
Jewellery/watch if needed
Passport, health card, travel insurance details, covid details
Swimming stuff if needed
travel mug etc depending on the sort of place, water bottle, hiking gear

GHIC, Replaces EHIC.

GHIC, Replaces EHIC.
Yes, but you can still use an EHIC if you've got one.

I take a power pack when I hike in case I want to listen to music.

An eye mask if sunlight bothers you when you’re sleeping.

Always take a swimming costume. You never know if you might want to and it takes up so little room.

A kindle, charger and plug adapter (or book if you prefer )

Make sure you have checked out current travel regulations for where you are going to .

I've had a look at the link of where you are going and it looks lovely .

I think you will just want comfy stretch clothing - leggings, harem pants etc . You are likely to need a warm top for early mornings and evenings . It's true that weather is unsettled at the moment - but would expect it to be more settled in a couple of weeks time - hopefully you will be able to sunbathe a bit and have a dip in the pool .

Maybe a few chocolate bars in case you get fed up of the health food Grin
