Every time I wash something dark green it comes out with stains??

This surely can’t be a coincidence… it never happens with any other colour clothes. But whenever I put something dark green in to wash it comes out with what looks like small damp marks / oil stains?

I use fairy if that means anything??

Am I going mad?

Im the same, but with black clothes Confused

SittingontheSidelines · 31/03/2022 09:45

Yes. With plain dark colours. Drives me mad.

Do you think it could be the detergent?

Could it be that your laundry capsules are getting stuck and not dissolving properly? I was finding odd 'stains' and jelly-like blobs when I was tossing in my liquid laundry tablets on top of the clothes in the washing machine. Now I put them in the back of the empty drum before the dirty clothes go in, it doesn't happen.

I don’t use gel capsules just the gel liquid Confused

Looks like oil stains. Butter or mayonnaise? They show up more on dark clothes. The Astonish Stain Remover Bar will get it out. It’s just a bar of soap that you scrub on before putting the clothes in the wash.

ssd · 31/03/2022 10:54

Same i use gel

ssd · 31/03/2022 10:55

Its not stains, my clothes dont go in stained but they come out stained drives me mad too

SittingontheSidelines · 31/03/2022 10:56

I use powder. But I think it must be grease stains.

There were no stains when they went in ! New trousers too 😞

Thanks I’ll try that!

Any kids been near you with bubble mkixture?

SittingontheSidelines · 31/03/2022 11:18

I can put my garment on and not see any then if I still just spill a drop of water in it the dark stain will appear and not disappear when it dries out. I've used bio/non bio/ liquid/powder and I've treated with washing up liquid which is usually good for grease stains. So I'm watching enthusiastically for any solutions.

LittleSnakes · 31/03/2022 15:54

So annoying. Could also be bubble mix which doesn’t stain until it’s been through the wash. The soap bar doesn’t get that out unfortunately. Nothing does. I hate it when new clothes get a mark on them straight away!

ssd · 31/03/2022 18:06

I think it must be something in the machine. Mines pretty old.

Leftbutcameback · 31/03/2022 18:08

I have the same with navy trousers (various materials) but it's white marks rather than "greasy". Not black of any other colour.

AndSoFinally · 31/03/2022 19:04

I was going to suggest bubble mixture, too. I'm not sure which of the ingredients it is that causes it but I'm guessing it would also be found in things other than bubble mixture 🤷🏻

ssd · 31/03/2022 19:28

No bubbles here, not for at least 10 years Grin

OTTExpectations · 01/04/2022 05:39

When did you last clean the seal? The window? Have you done a high temp clean the machine wash recently? What temp so you wash at and are you using bio or non bio?

LemonMuffins · 01/04/2022 05:43

Do you use fabric conditioner?

Im ashamed to say I never really give it a proper clean. I also rarely wash above 30. 40 for bed sheets. Think I’ll give it a good clean and put a high temp wash on tomorrow! Thank you! X
