Stopped Micrognynon after ten years! When will I have my period?

I decided to stop taking Micrognynon after ten years, allow 3 months for my periods to resume and then start trying for a baby.
I finished the pack as normal on the 28th February, had my weeks break and withdrawal bleed but am now waiting for my first natural period.
My Flo app says I am on day 32 of my cycle (they were always consistently 28 days whilst on the pill), so I am anxiously waiting for my period to start now as reassurance all is working well with my body!
A side note - my partner and I have been using condoms and I am not pregnant.
How long should I wait for my period to resume till I start worrying?
Thanks!

Hi, it took about 4-5 months for my cycle to return to normal after stopping the combined pill, very long cycles to start with then back to normal. I had been on it almost 10 years too.

Hiya, I also took microgynon for around 10 years! It took 6 months for me to get a proper period - but after contacting the doctor I also discovered I had PCOS all this time and the pill had been masking all the symptoms.
Hopefully not what is happening to you, just wanted to let you know of the possibility something to be mindful of. Smile

I went back to normal straight away, conceived 2nd month after stopping.

I took microgynon or brevinor for 18 years. It took 6 months to conceive our first.

You can’t really use a menstrual app on the combined pill as you’re not ovulating and so not having a proper period. It’s a withdrawal bleed. So your day 32 isn’t accurate.

I would expect you to bleed within the next month - ovulation usually restarts within 14-21 days of stopping your pill, not counting your pill free week. So if you would have restarted your pill on March 7th and didn’t, it may take a few weeks from there to ovulate and then another 2-3 weeks to bleed.

The length of time on the pill doesn’t affect the time it takes ovulation to restart.

Thank you, this is really useful.
I would have started my next pack of pills on the 4th February (but didn't).
On Monday the 21st I noticed discharge which I've never experienced before, and after googling it sounds just like ovulation mucus, so fingers crossed I do get my first natural period over the next week or so!
