suggestions for fun things in London, 40 somethings

does anyone have suggestions for things to do in London? I'm going in with a friend, haven't been for ages and am a bit uninspired as to what to do. Also, is it possible to get theatre tickets the night before or on the day? I used to get last minute tickets on the day from leicester square and some real bargains, but I believe it's all online now? What
is the best website for last min tickets?
Any good recommendations for things to do, for two middle aged women who are easily pleased and don't mind walking?
If you've been in recently with a friend and had fun, it would
be good to know what you recommend.

The ticket booth has reopened in a slightly different space, on the square. Check opening times though, as it was closed last time we tried.

I had a lovely morning recently in Liberty and F&M followed by lunch.

Not been able to get Van Gogh tickets at the times I want (Courtauld) but might be worth a look?

A treasure hunt perhaps? There are loads of companies which do this. One of the most well known is this one thesecret.city/london-treasure-hunts/
I’ve also enjoyed biscuit icing at Biscuiteers

Forgot to mention Swingers crazy golf bar in the west end.

I’m looking forward to trying The Alchemist cocktail bar next time I go down, is that your sort of thing? The new rooftop garden at John Lewis Oxford St looks fab too and I want to see the Beatrix Potter exhibition at the V&A but that’s sold out for a whileI think.

Or do what my daughter and I used to, buy a travelcard and get off at random stops on the tube to explore or get the top front seats on a double decker bus for a free sightseeing tour.

Have fun!

My fave things are
BYOC Camden - bring your own spirits and mixologists make them in to cocktails, all 20s style, venue is v cool.
Brixton indoor food market.
Kew Gardens.

The slide at the orbit in the Olympic Park?

The emirates air line cable car (you will always get a pod to yourself).

Get a Boris bike and cycle up the Thames, stopping in restaurants/bars/pubs.

See a show.

Go somewhere really lovely (not a chain) for dinner.

Borough Market for trying all the food?

I know they are more popular now but one of the bars where you get a wine glass and load a card with money and can go around trying loads of different wines? I’ve totally forgotten what they are called though!

Climb to the top of Primrose Hill for the view of London?

World of the Worlds Immersive Experience.
It is meant to be fantastic, and it also keeps popping up as an ad for me!

officiallondontheatre.com/tkts/

For last minute theatre tickets. It's also an app.

www.timeout.com/london/things-to-do/things-to-do-in-london-this-week

This should give you some idea what to do. They also have a section on weekend things to do.
