How many times do you exercise in a week?

Just that really. I currently do two weight sessions and one pilates a week. Want to increase it to 5x so looking to do other stuff too, but haven't managed yet.

What's your weekly routine like? And what do you do?

twice a day... The thing is I'm quite sedentary the rest of the time (like now, just had lunch, typing this, and have a sedentary job). So I'm an exercise freak but also not an exercise freak, so much of my time is sitting down.

What do people do in their spare time if they don't watch tv, if not exercise / housework/ chores/ gardening / little-kid care*?

Dog walk, swim ,active travel, gardening, cleaning, walks with DC, sawing up wood...

  • I acknowledge looking after little ones can take all day without getting outdoors even once.

3 or four good workouts a week - usually mix of cardio and strength for 45 mins - an hour

Stumpedasatree · 29/03/2022 13:49

I run 5 or 6 days out of 7, time varies from 30 mins to 2h. I'm extreme I suppose. I am in training for a half this weekend but run this regularly regardless of whether I am training or not. In between I walk the dog and spin very occasionally.

If you want to exercise you will find a way to shoehorn it into your day. Eventually it will become part of your routine.

I run three times a week and strength train 2-3 times. Never do both on the same day so I exercise 5-6 times a week.

I tend to have Fridays off and maybe a day at the weekend if we're busy. I think this is a good balance for me personally.

I run 4 or 5 times a week - about 45 mins each with one longer one of 1.5 hours. Spin once a week, weights 3 times, 2 circuit classes and a couple of core classes.

Running is always done first thing in the morning and the rest of the classes are at lunchtime (lucky to wfh and be 5 mins from the gym) or weekends.

Swimming x 1
Pole dancing x 1
Body balance x 1
Then I walk about 12000 steps on other days
Looking to add a Box fit class at lunchtime one day as my schedule is heavily slanted to the end of the week for classes/proper workouts.

3 group exercise classes a week. Usually combat or body attack. Netball twice a week at least, 3 if we've got a match. Also walk to and from the gym which is just over a km each way.

I aim to run four times a week and do yoga six times. Sometimes it’s only three runs because I don’t force myself to go in pissing rain.

Lacedwithgrace · 29/03/2022 14:21

I do some movement every day- usually light yoga for 10-15 minutes and I aim to walk for 30 minutes, even if it's just around the house. (I walk up and down our hallways while replying to emails/catching up on social media.
I'm disabled so can't do much more than that

FromEden · 29/03/2022 16:40

Yoga class 2-3 times a week and then elliptical machine at home or a long walk another 2-3 times. Well that's the goal. I dont always manage it but better than nothing!
