Covid19 (suspected) … is this normal?

GP strongly suspects I have covid19 … live in Scotland so isolating . Have got a PCR to stick in the post later .

I’m reasonably OK during the day, but feel absolutely horrendous when I wake up in the morning - shivering/fever, myalgia, pounding headache . Rest of the day I can function but absolutely exhausted, have to sit down to do most things . If I move about too much feel a bit light headed . Get short episode during the day of feeling very ill and then a bit better . I’m onto day 4 now .

Is it normal to feel a thousand times worse in the morning? Similarly just before bed in the evening, feel worse then too, but assumed that’s because I’m tired !

Everyone is different. I think it's fairly common with any virus/flu/cold to feel worse in the morning or overnight so case why covid would differ.

Have you done any lateral flow tests? I'd just rest, isolate as you are and await the PCR result. Keep on top of paracetamol for the fever and consider investing in some dioralyte or similar rehydration electrolytes, they often help and waking up dehydrated (fever will exacerbate this) won't help matters.

Hope the worst passes quickly Flowers
