Pay day and wages aren’t in my account…

Aware it’s only 7.30am.

Any chance they’ll go in later?

Bit screwed if they don’t go in.

Possibly but always tend to be in during the night.
I'd get onto Payroll

RagzRebooted · 28/03/2022 07:32

May well come in later on, I don't think mine go in this early.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/03/2022 07:33

I would have thought they'd be jn be now, does your account show pending transactions at all?

JenniferWooley · 28/03/2022 07:39

Is this your first pay day at this job?

My previous 2 jobs were with smaller companies & the payments were made manually so always went in later in the day, it was an absolute pain in the arse.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 28/03/2022 07:45

Nah, been at the job for years. Never had an issue before.

They’re usually in there when I wake up.

Nothing pending on my account.

Bit stressed.

Do you usually get paid on a Monday ? My bank normally doesn’t show up payments for a
Monday until Tuesday.

WeCouldBeSpearows · 28/03/2022 07:47

I used to do payroll.

The one time the wages didn't go in, it was an issue with the bank itself, so they had to manually input all the bac wages due to be paid that day (not just the place I worked at). They were in by 2pm.

Contact your payroll department when they open, they should be able to tell you what has happened.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 28/03/2022 07:47

No one call tell you this other than your payroll department.

TheMarvelousMrsMaisel · 28/03/2022 07:48

Are you sure it's not an issue with your bank?

swapsicles · 28/03/2022 07:49

Best to ask another employee to see if it's just you or everyone then go from there, I've had wages go in late before but it's been a company wide issue so kept in the loop.
Also worked 9 months in one job and the wages were never correct, didn't get paid for the first 3 months too!

Annette32123 · 28/03/2022 07:54

Happened to me once.

Someone updated their bank details with payroll and it was inputted against me in error. So that person got their salary into their old account and my salary into their new account. Initially payroll just kept telling me I’d been paid but I’d been there for years and so they quickly believed me.

Payroll sorted it same day.

gettingolderandgrumpy · 28/03/2022 08:06

None of us can help you if it’s normally the 28th it’s either a issue at work or the bank . Contact payroll first thing .

I'm pretty sure op knows that we can't help. Op is clearly just looking for some reassurance that things like this cash happen and people still get paid that day.
LizzieMacQueen · 28/03/2022 08:19

I think they were issues with some of the banking apps over the weekend so maybe there is a lag because the IT systems are busy with sorting that out first.

Pinklimey · 28/03/2022 08:28

I used to work for an engineering firm and the payroll lady used to always have payday off so no one could call her about problems with their wages.

BarbaraofSeville · 28/03/2022 08:50

I'm pretty sure op knows that we can't help. Op is clearly just looking for some reassurance that things like this cash happen and people still get paid that day

But processes and what's happened for one company is not necessarily the same as the same as for the OP and a mix of people saying everything from 'it will turn up later/ask them and they send a manual payment' to 'my company did this, turns out they went bust and I never got paid and lost my job too' doesn't 'reassure' the OP that she'll get paid today and all will be well, does it?

Plus it depends how her employer does it. BACS where it takes 3 days and is part of a big run, or a small company where it's done manually by faster payments and is instant once the money is sent? Totally different processes.

In the OPs situation, she needs to call payroll this morning, report her lack of wages and go from there.

LtJudyHopps · 28/03/2022 09:04

Have you asked any colleagues? This happened to me last year so I messaged someone else in the department and hers were also late. They both went in a couple of hours later that morning.

JenniferWooley · 28/03/2022 10:19

Contact payroll & they'll be able to help. It could be a number of reasons & we won't know which one it is.

WeCouldBeSpearows · 28/03/2022 19:56

I totally agree, which is why I said it upthread.

Silverclocks · 28/03/2022 20:00

What was the outcome OP?

In nearly 30 years of dealing with people's pay in one way or another, I'd say well over 90% of "I haven't been paid" queries, for long standing staff, are actually "I didn't look properly and my balance isn't as high as I expected after the overdraft was cleared."
