Who's with me? And why are you awake?

Covid in the house here. I feel too achy to sleep, plus two kids under 5 have it too and have required a lot of night nursing and cuddles.

I've been awake so long the nausea has hit now.

DS (3) is up do I am too. He's got tonsillitis and had a febrile convulsion yesterday so I've dosed him up with ibuprofen and he's no being grumpy about not being wrapped up in his blanket.

Have you had some water and paracetamol?

YukoandHiro · 28/03/2022 02:38

Sorry to hear that, how scary. Hope he's feeling better than yesterday.

Yes we're all alternating paracetamol and nurofen. Dd (4) has it the worst. I just really need some sleep

Hello all Sorry to hear about the poorly people. I'm negative now, but can't sleep as bunged up. And very stressed by Mother's Day tbh.

LittleDiaries · 28/03/2022 02:46

Covid here too. Feeling v rough, sinus pain from hell. Have been alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen, not due anything yet, and it's not even touching the sinus pain anyway. Am sitting on sofa with hot water bottle and mug of hot herbal tea. Feeling v tired but can't sleep for the pain Sad

After a lovely day, my poor DD11 has come down with a nasty sore throat and been sick for the last 4 hours. She can't even keep water down.

We're cuddled up on the sofa, she's exhausted and finally just nodded off. She's laid with her head on me like she did when she was small - she's almost my height now but still just a little girl even if she does think 11 is 'almost grown up. There's been a sickness bug going round so my money is on that.

I made myself a cuppa before she nodded off and I've got the tv remote so I'll find something to watch while she sleeps.

Thanks to everyone who's up

Wide awake .... anxious about my busy day tomorrow, yet nothing I can't handle

I'm 45 .... is this hormonal?! I literally only sleep ok 3 nights out of 7

Fed up with it

SpiderVersed · 28/03/2022 02:59

Coughing and exhausted here.

SuperSange · 28/03/2022 03:01

No bloody reason at all here. I'm really tired, but haven't been to sleep yet. I hope the ill people are feeling better soon 💐

EIisheva · 28/03/2022 03:04

Covid here too

I’m starving but can’t face food and anything sugary makes me feel sick

User56436674 · 28/03/2022 03:05

Covid here too but I'm okay, it's the little ones taking turns to wake up coughing and want to feed. I've had a couple of hours but been up since 1 now, shattered

Smileatthesmallthings · 28/03/2022 03:26

Covid here and I just can't get warm despite being fully wrapped in my duvet. Temperature is a bit off probably so I've taken some paracetamol and waiting for it to regulate. I hate this part of being ill, always makes me want to snuggle in with my mum despite being 35 years old.

Shabtipup · 28/03/2022 03:48

I got a burst of energy at 1am and decided to clean my fish tank instead of in the morning, so I could have a lie in. Lol. But it ended up taking longer than expected (it's a huge tank and lots of algae at the mo) finished at 3am now I'm wide awake 😆

tealandteal · 28/03/2022 04:12

Woken up by ddog, can’t get back to sleep due to heartburn and baby kicking. Ddog fast asleep next to me on the sofa!

Zonedoutallnight · 28/03/2022 04:24

7 week old baby feeding over here. Had 8 year old in for a cuddle earlier too - they were rather confused about what they were doing here when they were woken up to be sent back to their own bed though. Think they might be a bit of a sleepwalker!

ToMockAKillingBird · 28/03/2022 04:30

Covid here too. I've been constantly blowing my nose since Saturday and can't lie down without starting to cough. Sat downstairs with the dog next to me, he's snoring gently 😂

Sailorsusan · 28/03/2022 04:30

Morning all. I am wide awake and haven't been to sleep yet having gone to bed feeling anxious and paranoid about various things. I think it might be hormonal... I have given up and am downstairs with a cup of decaf tea.

Sailorsusan · 28/03/2022 04:31

Can't believe you cleaned your fishtank @shabtipup Grin

Zonedoutallnight · 28/03/2022 04:35

Is it weird that this is my favourite time of the day?

Everyone is quiet and asleep. I'm just sat in the peace and quiet cuddling the baby and reading through Mumsnet. I don't have to do anything or go anywhere. Any chores or jobs have to wait til day time.

Just me and my thoughts.

Zonedoutallnight · 28/03/2022 04:40

Should also add sorry to hear so many are suffering with covid. Our whole house has had it twice now so I know how rubbish it is.

YouBoggleMyMind · 28/03/2022 04:41

Poorly DS so have seen this time of day for the last 3 days. I'm going with her is getting us ready for his baby sister who's arriving in September... 😴🥱

YouBoggleMyMind · 28/03/2022 04:41

He is*

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 28/03/2022 05:09

Was woken by my 6wk old projectile vomiting. I only went to bed 2hrs ago and now I'm wide awake.
I have an important essay due in for work tomorrow which I have next to no chance of finishing as I have a 2yr old to look after as well as the baby, so I'm worrying about that too. Don't want to defer it as that will eat up even more of my maternity leave than it's already doing.
Can guarantee if I fall asleep the baby will decide he needs a feed.

feckingcovid · 28/03/2022 05:13

Me. My 13 year old DS has covid and isn't too great poor lad. He's asleep currently but I'm up and down like a yo-yo checking him due to his fever spikes Sad

VampireMoney · 28/03/2022 05:20

DD11 managed to sleep for an hour, woke up, sick again, had some sips of water and had only just settled again. I've brought her pillows down and she's cosy on the sofa. I'm hoping it's just a 24 tummy bug. Really hope she can get a few hours sleep now.

Considering I've been awake since half 6 yesterday morning when toddler decided sleep is for losers, I'm not at all tired.. who needs sleep, right?

May as well make a coffee and some toast! Let the dogs out. Catch up on the news before the day really kicks in.
