What's gracing your kitchen island this weekend?

Having spotted an artfully arranged acacia wood bowl of pomegranates gracing a friend's kitchen island, I feel I need to up my island game somewhat. What's gracing your kitchen island this weekend? Time to swap my pile of unpaid bills for something more stylish!

I also have a peninsula which is adorned with a dummy, a pen and a bag for life

I’ve upgraded from fruit bowl to veg ewer. It’s got a bunch of syboes on it just now.

No island but peninsula and on it is:
Box of tissues
Bread bin with my phone on top
Bread board
Face mask
Box of lemsip (I have covid)

I'll also raise you to what is under your peninsula?
A cupboard with various food items in
2 side shelves with cookery books and a basket of potatoes and onions

A Knife block and that's it 😉

Tiny 60s council flat kitchen so no island but scattered artistically around are:
A broken shopping basket on wheels that holds the plastic bags
A years supply of dog biscuits
Two years worth of laundry soap in a giant tub (doubles as extra shelf)
Toastie maker (you have to move the scales, foil and greaseproof paper to be able to use it)
Bread bin full of poo bags
Toaster
Stack of boxes full of cereal, biscuits etc
Condiments, waffle iron, herbs and spices.

An octopus candelabra
A small plastic dinosaur which is acting as a plant pot for an air plant
Last weeks recycling which has been to school to be covered in sellotape and returned to me as art

William Morris jug full of daffodils. Box of Guylian. Paint roller and tray. The island is new and I love it too much.

A rose gold fruit bowl. I’m thinking of making clay fruit for it and acrylic pouring them. My fruit arrangements keep being eaten.

Under my peninsula- One side- Four stools one of which is sporting a cardigan, End a cupboard full of glasses and two full of spirits, Other side 6 drawers featuring, cutlery, bread, packed lunch snacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, Baking utensils, toaster, slow cooker, hand mixer, hand blender, baking tins and icing equipment.

@YodaLivesOnMySofa the Sharpie is making me anxious and it’s not even my island. Shouldn’t that be under lock and key at all times?

Plus! a magic art book with a pot of water and paintbrush by it, a notepad and pen, DDs diabetes bag and an empty cup

@Cedarfire Yes you’re right. It’s only out as I needed it for a birthday card earlier but I really must get it put back in the drawer!

Bunch of gypsophila, fruit bowl (no stunt pineapple, but a weirdly large amount of lemons 🤷🏻‍♀️), bowl of grapes, one black cherry candle, one line and basil candle.

Looks quite stylish as an ensemble actually. Which is pure fluke!
