How often do you change your bedsheets?

I change my sheets every Sunday, but lately I've noticed that they still seem fresh when they're changed and maybe it's excessive.
What do you do? Would it be grim if I changed to once every two weeks?

Twice a day. Anything less is grim.

Anotherhealthcondition · 27/03/2022 14:44

How often do we have to have this asked on MN?

OverByYer · 27/03/2022 14:44

Between 7-14 days

Depends what you do in your bed, but fortnightly is absolutely fine. I'd have a fresh pillow cover weekly though.

Blackbootswithredribbons · 27/03/2022 14:45

@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn morning and night or randomly through the day?

cloverlover · 27/03/2022 14:47

i've recently switched to every two weeks to save money on energy! haven't noticed a huge difference TBH.

kennelmaid · 27/03/2022 14:47

I don't understand the question. Change my sheets? Why?

Blackbootswithredribbons · 27/03/2022 14:48

Fresh pillow case once a week actually makes more sense than the full works- will try

@Blackbootswithredribbons randomly wouldn't work with my day. Wouldn't leave enough time for the hot wash on an eco friendly setting, the starching, drying in sunlight for sterilisation, the pressing, scenting and folding and then standards would slip

Blackbootswithredribbons · 27/03/2022 14:50

@kennelmaid as in the covers on the duvet and pillow and the fitted sheet on mattress. You change them because they get sweat and stains on etc

@PollyPutTheKettleOnKettleOn glad to see some people still have standards, quite rare these days

Isn't it just? I despair of modern housekeeping

bellsbuss · 27/03/2022 14:53

Once a week , twice when it's hot.

VyeBrator · 27/03/2022 14:53

Since joining Mumsnet, I've learned to change them every 15 minutes throughout the night.

bellac11 · 27/03/2022 14:54

I use plastic sheets and give them a wipe down with anti bac

DorotheaHomeAlone · 27/03/2022 14:54

Fortnightly here, with pillow cases done weekly.

Blimecory · 27/03/2022 14:56

More often in summer than winter, as we don’t have a tumble dryer and rely on line drying. Maybe every three-four weeks.

WaterBottle123 · 27/03/2022 14:57

Fresh set every time someone breathes near them, burn after each use.

Do you lot KNOW how GRIM most washing machines are?

Blackbootswithredribbons · 27/03/2022 14:59

Thanks all

I don't have a partner so I sleep one side of the bed in week one and then sleep the other side of the bed in week 2. So every two weeks. Cut my washing by 50% Genius Grin

Grin That’s the perfect solution, right there! I might go one step further though and sleep at the foot of the bed as well…
lollipoprainbow · 27/03/2022 15:04

@Blackbootswithredribbons changing the sheets twice a day isn't keeping up standards it's totally over the top !!

This is good but you need to up your game , once you have slept on both sides turn your sheets / duvet over to the clean side and turn your pillow case inside out and repeat. Four weeks out of one set of bedding !
